- It was a tough mission. And we saw clear improvement on your strategy. So don't be too hard on yourself for that.
- It's a game designed to make people anxious so the winning play is to stay calm and patient.
To All Commanders and The Ghost:
- This game is really about line-of-attack, your soldiers need to have clear lines of attack while avoiding any lines pointing at you. (eg. Think about enemy flanking moves beforehand.)
- But it's hard to get >50% accuracy while keeping yourself out of future line-of-attacks. So an alternative is to have a backup plan (eg. Can I somehow get 2 soldiers to shoot that enemy?)
- Since you want to have backups, dashing and ruining team composition is generally bad. But you need dashing to get away from enemies (eg. In scenarios where incoming enemies are designed to flank you).
- And lastly, only split the team where you can't be flanked (eg. If you don't see clear and protected passage, don't split the team).
I believe in you all, you can still turn it around: some patience should be enough.
My hope is that the three headed commander can pull out of this tailspin in the next few episodes. XCOM can be effectively done for hours before you actually lose. If they start losing countries and experienced soldiers, they could get into a death spiral with no escape. No one wants to watch a team after it's been eliminated from the playoffs and I'm afraid we're one or two episodes away from that if stuff goes bad.
My secret hope is they can find someone from the West to save them from chaos, like the Kerbal Space Program run.
Personally I think at normal difficulty, with some careful play, they can turn things around pretty quickly (having beat ironman + hard myself, it's definitely possible, just require better understanding).
But sigh Giant Bomb isn't famous for being prepared, is it?
also- the man effectively got one man killed and the other KIA got bit by an unfortunate quirk/bug. judging by how the rest of the episodes have gone, it really wasn't that bad.
Exactly!
People are such drama-queens, it's hilarious.
I love how Dan can get people so riled up over literally nothing. He might be my favorite of the staff, purely out of spite for these angry fools.
Being angry is part of the experience. What else am I paying for? Strategic gameplay?
- Tencent didn't buy or invest in Bluehole (yet), the latter has denied such report. But it's quite likely Tencent will make a move to get an exclusive publishing right of PUBG for WeGame platform (As they did with Rocket League).
- Tencent starts by creating OICQ, a clone of ICQ. It got popular in China and Tencent grew to be an Internet giant. Nowadays, games and related entertainments are the primary way Tencent monetise its user base. So depending on your definition of Tencent, it might or might not be a game company.
