"Nope. I doubt they even noticed yours, so why would they?"
Yea right. 2 hours after I posted it, using some similar terms. Why did my thread not get any replies, and the other thread got over 60? I posted the friggin thing first.
What's the point in me doing blogs if the staff are just going to usurp all my views? When someone creates a duplicate thread, usually the duplicates get locked. I don't ask for much, just a few views? Some credit from the staff? Just a 'thanks for the heads up' PM?
Not if they didn't get it from you. They're not trying to usurp your views. You weren't getting views anyway. Which is why they probably didn't know you posted it. If they If you have issues with this, take them up with Dave. There is no point in complaining about it here.

I posted it on Giant Bomb first. I'm sure they viewed my thread first. What are the chances I wasn't their source? I'm sure the staff and admins collectively read all the threads at least once. This video wasn't being covered on Joystiq or Kotaku. There wasn't a thread about it on NeoGAF. You admit you see the similarity in the threads right? I might have gotten views if they didn't make another topic on the subject 2 hours after I had. I don't begrudge them doing a main page topic on it, but at least own up to it.
Honestly, what can I complain about? I want this to be public, because if it's all hidden I just end up getting screwed. I think the topics on the main page should credit users if warranted.
For what it's worth, I'm more fed up with the community. I post content and get zero replies, someone else posts the same exact content shortly afterward and receives all the views, replies, and credit. All sorts of crappy topics get tons of replies here and I only get a trickle. What should be my motivation for providing such content to this community in the future?
You wouldn't have gotten views. You didn't get views. Actually, maybe you would have. Who knows?
And no, the staff don't spend all day reading threads on the forums. I don't know what would lead you to believe that. Dave's article had a link to John Romero's blog, something you did not provide. So you know what? He probably found it on John Romero's blog or picked it up from one of the other sites that reported on it.

Honestly, would you stop replying to this thread? It seems like you just want to suck up and you're not even replying intelligently.
"Which part do you not understand? I can clarify if you'd like."
Are you even reading what I'm typing? Please leave this thread.
I posted it first on Giant Bomb. The community completely ignored my post and paid attention to one that copied mine. The copying doesn't even matter as much as the fact that I posted it first.
As crazy as it may be to understand, I actually saw it on Romero's blog, then forwarded it over to Snide cuz I knew he'd appreciate it, who then in turn posted a message about it on the site. So Snide did completely steal it... from *ME*...
