Giving gamers a bad name

I'll give you a basic synopsis of this man point. He says that living a quote en quote normal life is pointless. He says that there is no point in going through the effort to building a social life when you can interact with people via a virtual means. While he cites reasons like being able to do things in games that are not possible in games, he's making it seem like a plus that you can both have sex with a hooker and shoot her in the face. This is exactly the type of commentary that gives the impression that all gamers are under-sexed nerds with no social life and a killing complex.
I would imagine that he feels fairly confident in himself but in reality he's just a scared coward. Yea building up a social relationship with a person takes time but then what doesn't? The rewards of having a real life friend outweighs a virtual friend any day. Sure you can meet friends and socialize on the internet but you can't emulate actually hanging out with a friend. What I'm trying to say is that he is the stereotypical nerd that gives gamers a bad rap. I don't know if there is any point to this video but watching just made me mad inside.

Haha, oh lord. "i went to russia and got to watch 2 nukes take of in the air, and got to shoot a bunch of guys, i mean, when was the last time you got to do that?"

erm, never? as no-one should WANT to?

I completely agree with you.

I find it ironic that he talks about how we can laugh at him, in an attempt to make us like him, only it fails miserably.

That guy must be insecure as all hell, already you can see how pretentious he is, but in agreement with you, he does gives us gamers a bad name. Like, how do you stay in one fucking dimension like that for your life? But hey, we all live how we wish right right? Heh.

I'm seriously speechless. I really don't know what to say. Seriously I don't have any response for that.

This guy makes some vaild points. Also, he plays games a lot. So? He's not affecting other people's lives. The people that give gamers a bad name are those that kill people because they 'did it in a game.' People who just play games all day aren't hurting anyone. Also, I watch this guy a lot on YouTube, and he has a job and lives alone. He's not a loser, just lives his life how he wants.

Ok his first thing about raping people then killing them in video games instead of in person is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.  YES it would be better if those messed up people did that in games instead of to actual people, but anyone who really WANTS to do that in the first place in messed up as far as I am concerned.

He tries to sound smart but basically just winds up making himself look like a complete idiot.

I will admit he does make a few good points, but he's not helping us break the stereotype that gamers are a bunch of antisocial loners and introverts. If he wants to spend the rest of his life devoid of REAL human contact that's fine, but stop trying to convince other people what your doing is normal. No offense, but I'd rather have friends I can see in person instead of on a screen or hear over a microphone.
