While there's a multitude of complaints to be leveled against "Heavenly Sword" and "Enslaved: Odyssey to the East", Andy Serkis plays two vastly differently roles in both of games, and delivers some of the most memorable performances I've seen in a video-game, period. Unless I'm missing something obvious, I really can't think of any other game that can really contend with either of those in this regard.

.. Actually, there's one that just might top the both of those. Mike Patton in "The Darkness". If that wasn't the most disturbing thing I'd ever heard in a video game...

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, that looks good. As big of a bummer as it is that we won't have access to this here content at launch, I'm overjoyed that we're eventually getting a story mode in the vein of the more recent Netherrealm games, as those really were the main reason for why I got drawn back into fighting games after a considerable hiatus.

The decision to make this free DLC is very smart, as well, as after a couple of months of release, I imagine that such an elaborate thing will draw the majority of the player base back in. Hopefully, they'll have released some of the DLC characters as well by then, so we might get some Guile and Alex in the actual story-mode.

Also, I'm getting a very Winter Soldier-ish vibe from the Nash/Guile angle, like "you abandoned me to my fate/now you must die" type thing. I dunno, maybe I'm just imagining that.

If you are, then you're not alone in doing so, a lot of people have been making assumptions along those lines, myself included.

@jinoru: There's a bit of a cult phenomenon on this site, and it's only been getting worse over the years. Folks can't really make any criticism without being bombarded by "loyalists" who won't tolerate any kind of misgivings. Same kind of people who make big noise on the twitters, attacking feminists and the like. And you know, I love this place, but you see this EVERY single time anyone has a complaint of any kind directed at the staff. So many people just aren't willing to even consider it as a fault, and just assume that the person posing the question is somehow twisted. As if there couldn't possibly be anything to their point.

Now, I could link you to about every single one of these types of threads, but the thing is, they tend to get locked. Because.. Well, go figure. So, yeah. That said, what I'm saying is a generalization, and isn't necessarily representative of this conversation. But I've just seen it a few hundred times, and I can't help but feel a little fatigued.

Now, I ain't saying everyone who disagrees with the OP is of that ilk. After all, everyone has their own opinion and so on; but there's plenty of that kind of thinking to go around in this thread, and it's a bit of a bummer that we can't talk through something we don't find optimal about this site, especially given that even the staff has gone on record saying that it's something they'd like to improve on.

Rather than having a discussion about it, folks are basically engaging in a tug-of-war of why it's alright opposed to why it ain't.

And here we go again. They creep out of the woodwork at the smell of fresh blood. Bright eyes gleaming in the dark, they sniff at the air from their elongated haunches, what remains of their old voices rasping, whispering in broken unison; "A dissenter! A non-believer!" It sounds like snakes praying.

Please read through the entire post before you decide to rally against the person who dares make a complaint. He/she doesn't pose a threat against your beloved web-site, so hear him out. Maybe that way, the crew will, too, and you'll find yet another reason to love this place. Naked Cartoon Pussy only goes so far.

And yeah, this stuff is super-sloppy. The guys themselves have said as much time and again. And yet somehow, no one's actually written a check-list and made a genuine effort to remember it. As much as I love this site, (this is where I talk about how I've been a premium member since premium was available, etc, so you folks don't jump on me), there's a lot of stuff that could use some improving. Doing so won't change what this site is about, it'll just improve the experience for everyone, so let's stay open to constructive criticism, shall we?

I don't own an Xbone, my own self, but I thought I'd drop in just to say thanks for doing this on behalf of the whole community. Folks stepping out of their way to do others a kindness is why I still have some amount of faith left in this community.

Charmander. Admittedly, I haven't played a Pokemon game since the game boy colour, but I still feel the urge to follow that statement up with "... bitch."

I'm really excited for it. I wasn't for an extended period of time as it just seemed to me as if they were going back to doing the same old thing after the fresh, yet putrid, breeze of air that was Bloodborne. Playing the game convinced me otherwise, the new mechanics mix things up in a way no previous addition to the series has, offering both tactile depth and the potential for in-the-moment decisions that could be the fine difference between life and death.

I also really, really like the aesthetic, everything so colourful yet draped with a layer of gray ash. It seems to me like they're going somewhere with the world-building and the narrative. Dark Souls 2 very much felt like something you could connect to the previous games if you looked hard enough, but now, all of the pieces from the previous games are falling into place in a way that's evident just from the look of the environments. As someone who's been really into the Souls lore, I actually believe they might be able to wrap things up in a satisfying way, and that's no mean task.

I think it will be a great game for people who aren't too invested in the series, and a fantastic game for those who are.

@hassun: That's genuinely hilarious. Around what point of the stream was that?

Man, between all the times I've played and watched Dark Souls being played, I must have seen the entirety of the game nearly 30 times, and the shit that happens still manages to surprise me every once in a while. What a fucking game, you guys.

@belegorm: In my mind's eye, they read the news about Bowie, and said; "Let's give people something to feel good over."

Does Dan ever figure out the trick to killing the skeletons in the last stream? I couldn't bear watching him try to sprint past everything after the first hour.
