So ok, what I can't figure out, is why the hell does it matter?

Personally, my 2009 game of the year would have to be Uncharted 2. But I'm not gonna flip out about Giantbomb being sellouts if they go and give the award to Modern Warfare 2. During last years Game of the Year podcast, they deliberated back and forth between Grand Theft Auto 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4. They ended up giving the award to GTA because they jsut simply had more fun playing it as a game.

Obviously, if you're not having fun at a Big-Name game (MW2!) then you won't like it. Jeff, Ryan, Vinny, and Brad are by far the four most honest gaming journalists that I've ever come across. They aren't going to not give out an award because they think it might harm their reputation. They are going to give out the best awards to the games that they think are most deserving.  
 
Also, and this is just a sidenote.... Super Mario Galaxy was not 2007's GOTY, that award goes to Bioshock in my book.

I think a boycott is sort of ridiculous.

Valve IS NOT required to release any post-launch content, no matter how sparse the contents of the original game were. Left 4 Dead was an amazing game that I played for hours on end, and if Valve is going to release L4D2 so soon after L4D then I say AWESOME!

Look at Call of Duty, millions of people buy these games every year (myself included) and I don't care who says that that is any different, cuz its not. Valve has to do right by Valve, and thats fine with me.

My wallet's gonna be empty till 2020 lol

I don't have a Wii... but my top 5 so far are:

Call of Duty 4: MW
Bioshock
Left 4 Dead
Fallout 3
Metal Gear Solid 4

These are the games that I have gotten the most enjoyment out of...

Assassin's Creed 2, Mass Effect 2, and Bioshock 2 most of all. I'd like to see more about the DSi, and I'd like to see some awesome new games.

Thank God, I love Team Fortress 2, I have it for both 360 and PC however I'm no good at PC FPS's so I mainly play on the Xbox.

I'm so glad Valve isn't leaving TF2 on the 360 out to rot. It's my favorite multiplayer game of all time, even more than Left 4 Dead.
