The people saying Horizon has bad combat and/or story are either completely insane, coocoo bananas, or lying filth that wish you ill. They are not your friends, and you should not listen to them. Horizon is the game for you.
So I'm still confused. A while ago, Dontnod came out and said that if they would ever do a sequel, it would be in a new setting, with new characters. A few weeks ago, news of a sequel leaked. A few days after that, images of this prequel leaked, along with the news that it was being developed by a studio outside of Dontnod.
What I'm wondering is basically: Are there one or two games? I haven't really found a good reply to this.
My father and my grandfather were both bald, so I knew where it was heading early. My hairline started receding when I was 18, and I started losing my hair at 21. By 25, I was definitely bald. I've been bald now for 12 years. And if there's anything I've learned in that time, it is this: Don't kid yourself into believing that there's anything cool that can be done. Bald is who you are now. It will be how people see you, it's the first impression people will get of you. The ONLY acceptable choice open to you is the razor. Go full Bruce Willis, or if you don't have the skull for it, keep it short at all times. ANYTHING else, and you will look like a clown.
The actor Michael Chiklis has starred in two cop shows. In one, his character made the right choice. In the other he did not. Try to guess which is which.
I genuinely feel that the hate cascade hitting this game is strange and undeserved. The game does have alot of issues, as did the original trilogy. Honestly, I found the low res textures from ME2 alot more jarring than the facial animations in Andromeda. And 2 is probably my favorite game of all time. As for Andromeda, I'm having a great time with it. Playing on PC, and the only major technical problem I have is that the frame rate drops in the cockpit of the Tempest, so conversations with Suvi and Kallo are a bit of a chore.
I can see myself viewing this game as the "worst" of the Mass Effect games to date, when al is said and done, but I love all of them, so it's not saying much. The negatives simply are no match for the positives, in my eyes. I can completely understand those who disagree though. There are things you have to let slide to enjoy it.
@dystopiax: You're absolutely right, of course. Alot of people have a lot of genuine complaints and worries. I'm 10 hours in, and I have a couple of worries myself. The lip synch isn't great, like it is with any game that hasn't been performance captured. If a character has light eyes, they look a bit dead.
But having played it for 10 hours, it's become painfully clear that the response is disproportionate to how big the problems are. GiantBomb isn't the worst. (Holy shit, twitter. Holy shit, PCGamer.) There is a transparent glee with some people that they have found something to latch onto with a BioWare game, which I only can surmise comes from the resentment that built up since the ME3 ending and DA2.
