The issue is extremely complex that touches on the price/value argument, games as a service, the place of brick and mortar retail, and even the general buying habits of folks nowadays.
The problem is that the game industry is historically quiet over financials that can tell the story, and because of that it is very difficult to get a true barometer of the state of the industry.
@bigsocrates: Sony and Microsoft are massive technology corporations that operate on higher scales than Nintendo. Nintendo tends to shut off older hardware faster because they have to dedicate resources to make sure the next system gets off to a good start.
@badseed: In the realm of wrestling, the booking makes sense. Goldberg is the greatest monster built by a wrestling company since Andre the Giant. He had an unreal and unbeatable winning streak, took down every major name that was tossed in his way, and only lost the streak due to a cattle prod and a lot of interference.
Even in the buildup to this match, Goldberg was a monster. He handled Rusev handily, and wrecked an entire security staff in the ring last Monday. All this match said is that Goldberg is forever S+ tier, and Brock is simply S tier.
This also continues the story of "Spears murder Lesner." Rollins won the title because Reigns speared the hell out of Brock when the Mania match turned into a three way, and Brock was crippled by two spears by Goldberg. If the endgame is Reigns vs Lesner, then building a path that shows that Reigns spear will take Lesner down is good storytelling.
