"The Last Wish", from the Witcher series. It is seriously good stuff. That and "A Casual Revolution", by Jasper Juul, a book about the recent history of video games and how they have been changing. Not sure about the second one
1. Bastion - reintroduced me to games, made me remember why I played them, why I loved them, and why FPS' are not for me.
2. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Best game of all times.
3. Football Manager Series - Honestly, one of the most complex and addictive games ever. Played ever single one from 2008-on and it would EAT UP MY LIFE!!
@Paul_Is_Drunk: Thanks! As I said, this is only a hobby for now, and I probably will invest myself to learn a language soon. For now messing with Gamesalad is fun, and good for me to get some ideas on the screen while I'm learning the languages. Is Ruby your recommended entry-level language that I should learn? If so, do you have any recommendations as to how I should go around learning it?
So I started using Gamesalad recently, just to futz around with it and see what I could do. It seems like a pretty straightforward and slick creator and editor, even if it is quite limited. Does anyone have tips for people who are looking into just messing around with game creation for fun? A good program, a book to read, anything works. I also accept you guys' hobby games to inspire me.
I was listening to the bombcast with the "Life is Beautiful" whistling tune as background and i'll be damned if it didn't make it more enjoyable. Does anyone think the bombcast should have a background song?
