I think that it's misguided to think that Giant Bomb is some sort of generic content destination a la Netflix when the main thing, the number one thing since day one, that's brought everyone to the site is a consistently present core group of people who like each other and get along and are funny and fun and enjoy spending time with each other and all have a shared interest, video games.

You can do something else with the website if you want, and clearly they now want, but it is a completely different thing once you change the pieces of that formula. And even if it does work -- and I think that's a realllllllll long shot because then you're competing with Youtube and Netflix instead of Gamespot and Easy Allies -- it'll never be the thing we showed up for originally.

Stadia will be much easier to maintain and support with zero dedicated games and the just staying with the same trickle of AAA games that you can already play on GeForce Now or a real console or whatever. The near zero users will be very happy. Great job Google.

@bagelsbagels Thank you. I have to read up on what fu are and all that to actually understand what you said, but that helps somewhat.

@efesell ahh ok that makes sense. Nagashi Mangan sounds really interesting but what a ridiculous thing to attempt to do. Especially since everyone can see exactly how close you are to doing it.

@janman come use my ridiculous looking and mostly right diagram for great learnings!

Here's a ridiculous thing I made. I don't remember if you can see the whole thing if you click. Hopefully so.

I am currently a pure green zone player, like our valiant leaders Ben and Jan. But this kind of helped to make, and then I had to add gradients because gradients are very funny to me.

Edit: ok yeah it's way too big to read all the text in the default view, so here's a full size (giant) link https://i.imgur.com/qut3TcN.png

I'm surprised by and jealous of how good Jeff is at just answering most of the questions in a single sentence and stopping. TV pro

Hi,

Environment:

OS: Windows 10
Browser: Firefox 68.0.1, extensions disabled, and I also turned OFF the built-in Firefox options to block third-party cookies or block tracking.

There is no output in the error console.

Bugs:

When I go here: https://www.giantbomb.com/flying-dragon/3030-15662/wiki-history

I see this:

No Caption Provided

1. When I click an edit ID, the URL in my address bar changes to https://www.giantbomb.com/flying-dragon/3030-15662/wiki-history/wiki/moderation/41036/ and no navigation happens. But if I right-click and open in new tab, it's fine and goes to the correct URL.

2. The top edit in this list, 41036, is not an edit of Flying Dragon, it's an edit of Dream of Mirror Online.

The longer I live in countries other than my home country, the more I am able to accept that a hamburger could be a sandwich sometimes, to some people, in some situations.

After 11 years of contemplation, I am ready to announce that, even though it pains me greatly, hamburgers are technically sandwiches.

Obviously this is only the current state of research. Research must continue. Talk to you guys in 2030.
