  1. Mass Effect 2

  SO. DAMN. GOOD. Would be surprised (pleasantly) if a better game comes out this year.

  2. Red Dead Redemption

  Easily the best Western game I've played. I find the setting and the mechanics of the game to be even more fun then the GTA series, and the story is up there as well! The ending, even if predictable, was still perfectly executed. The only downsides is I feel there is less content then GTA4, in the story mode and the things you can do outside of the main quest. The world is massive but there ultimately isn't THAT much to do in it. Still, 20 hours is better then most games these days.

  3. Halo: Reach

  The best Halo game since the first. Bungie finished their work on the series in a pretty epic fashion. Some fantastic set pieces, easily the best FPS multiplayer mode on a game I've played in a while, an actual well told, decent story (who would have thought after Halo 3...) and loads more goodies. Definitely strongly recommended to FPS/Sci-Fi fans.

  4. Gran Turismo 5

  thought I'd hate it, turns out this game makes me want to become a car aficionado. very addictive and fun.
