Robin Walker confirmed, about two  or three weeks ago, that they currently have no plans to bring Steam to Linux. Honestly, I think the only reason they made it for Mac is because Apple made some kind of deal with them. With Linux, there is no company behind it to make that kind of deal, so I think it's very unlikely.

I also don't think it would bring in enough new customers to be worth it for them to make it for Linux. Any gamers that prefer to use Linux more than likely have a Windows OS dual-booted on their system, if only to play games. While it would probably be convenient for them to have Steam on Linux, Valve is only going to worry about how much money it will bring in.

@comrademcpherson: The image that Valve gave to Apocalypse Gaming shows the engineer holding a tool box much larger than his current tool box, which his buildables come out of (he drops his tool box on the floor and a sentry, dispenser, or teleporter is made from it). I think this is supposed to be a clue that he's getting new buildables. Plus, the new kill icon for the level one sentry that I mentioned before. One more thing is that Valve posted a blog on the Team Fortress 2 website, back in March, about some ideas they had come up with for new buildables, but they found that none of them would work as intended (you can read the blog here). I think it's pretty safe to assume we will be getting some new buildables.

Biggest disappointment: PlayStation 3's Move
I wasn't really disappointed by anything, but the announcement I found least interesting was the Move controller for the PlayStation 3. It didn't impress me at all, and it's obvious they're just trying to steal some of Nintendo's success with the Wii. Although I can't blame them, I just don't think this device will be worth getting.

Biggest surprise: Driver: San Fransisco
With the exception of Driver 2, the past Driver games haven't been too great. I thought they had given up on the series, so not only was I surprised to see a trailer for another sequel, but I was very impressed with what they've done with it. I'm really looking forward to hearing more about this game.

I switch which class I play based on what the rest of my team is playing as and doing. My favorite class to play as is pyro, but lately I've been playing as sniper and engineer a lot.

Valve has already told us a little about what will be in the Engineer update. First, when they updated the kill icons to include the community-made weapons, they also added a new sentry kill icon, which looks like a level 1 sentry with an orange laser coming out of the top. You can see it here. Then, in the Mac update trailer, they revealed a new shotgun. Finally, just yesterday, Valve gave an image to a community called Apocalypse Gaming, which contains hints about the engineer update. Things we can see in this image include:

  • A new, larger tool box, with two handles instead of one.
  • A larger holster for his wrench (or something else that may go there)
  • A new map. The theme of this map kind of resembles the 2Fort map.

You can view the image here.

Other than that, I'm just hoping to see the 'Meet the Pyro' video and a couple more community-made weapons (possibly the first batch of Polycount winners' items).
