I was about 100 hours into a Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced save. I left my Game Boy SP -in a case w/ all of my games- at a friends house. The next day I found out that said friend and my then girlfriend of two years had been fooling around behind my back. Obviously, at no point after this revelation did I call to say, "Hey, it's bummer what the two of you did/are doing, but could I at least get my Game Boy back?"

Years later, the former friend called me, full of apologies. In what I suppose many would consider a less-than-shocking turn of events, the girl in question had left him in similar dubious fashion. He asked if I would meet him for a drink, and mentioned that even if the proverbial bridge could not be mended, he had something of mine that he wanted to return.

We met at a bar. Only now, while I'm sitting here typing this, do I realize how pathetic this sounds, but I only agreed to meet him because I hoped my SP and Tactics cart would be returned.

He was still a stain of a human being. He returned a Zippo lighter, that he claimed I once referred to as having some sort of sentimental value. The lighter had never belonged to me... so much for sentimental value. I told him as much, and half-jokingly inquired about the SP, or at least tactics cart.

Turns out he sold SP and all the games on Craig's List, and used the cash to take my/his former lady friend out for dinner. To this day, I have no earthly idea why he felt the need to divulge anything beyond, "I sold it on Craig's List."

@Toug said:

The guys argument that "Sexual Harassment is to Street Fighter, as A BASKETBALL is to THE GAME OF BASKETBALL" pretty clearly lays out how completely moronic the guy is presenting himself.

Sexual harassment is not okay. That's why is has the word "harassment" in it.

That comparison takes the cake.

Well, this dude is a schmuck. Wonderful, when folks use "this is America not North Korea" to justify being a waste. You have the right to be a bigot apparently means you're obligated to exercise that right, and expect zero brushback; especially when playing video games with your energy-drink-chuggin', mom's-basement-livin', bros. Not sure why liking a video-game and being an idiot are intrinsically related?

Also, in my opinion, Giant Bomb is the only gaming sight that qualifies as a provider of journalism.

Hope that dude, who is clearly in his thirties, has fun running with a crowd of people he describes as 15-20 year olds. I hope someone feed him a fight stick, rectally.
