It never, ever fucking fails. So I intently fired up my 360 with the plan to download Mothership Zeta for Fallout 3. I knew I didn't have enough points on my account to buy it, but I knew I had quite a bit left from the last time I bought some Rock Band tracks. Basically I had in mind that I would have to buy 500 points for $6.25. But if I do that I fall 10 points short, which means I have to spend another $6.25 because of 12 fucking cents. And that, my friends, is bullshit.

My friend had to do that when he bought Battlefield 1943, there needs to be a new pricing system instead of Microsoft Points, Wii Points, and whatever other forms of virtual currency tend to be more inconvenient than useful when making digital purchases

PSN actually does it right, actual currency prices.

Does the PS3 store direct charge your card or does it charge to a virtual wallet? The PSP store charges to a virtual wallet which you top up with (for the UK) £5 a time (or values of £5 eg 10/15). That still leaves the same issue where you are 20p off and put in £5 instead. "

It's funny, see my brother has his connected to his debit card, and if he over charges it like buying a 10 dollar item with only 5 bucks in his wallet, then it just deducts 5 more dollars from his debit card without him having to charge another 5 bucks into his wallet. "

The PSN was confusing at first, but I definitely prefer how they do currency. I guess the benefit to MS points is that they are universal.

Coming from pc gaming to console I really hate DLC. People with free time on there hand would create free content, I did my self do some mapping for games I was really happy doing it some of the greatest maps are created by random people out of no where. 
 
Lets just look at crysis and the mechwarrior total conversition. Its a mod better than a DLC for free.  
 
I really hope they include user generated content on console for free DLC is bullshit, quality control my ass the user can do that himself imo

That's why DLC is priced the way it is: so you get screwed over and have to pay for more points.

*sigh* I wish you would all realize why these companies are shoving this funny money down our throats.  It's all about taxes.  Because of the recent law on Gift Cards, no taxes can be applied to them.  When you purchase a XBOX Microsoft Point card, you are paying for the points, which is not a real currency.  Microsoft (and Nintendo) love this because they have to pay very little in taxes.
