I'm disappointed in the lack of effort from the rest of the community. It really didn't take a whole lot of effort for me to casually answer a bunch of trivia and provided twenty serious questions of my own. I suppose any quests that involve some semblance of effort won't be completed by the majority of the users here. Oh well. Here's to hoping the next community quest set will only involve clicking on wiki page links.

My cable situation wasn't so bad when I was back at home and had plenty of hookups. Everything was merely hidden in the back, which made it out of sight and out of mind. I live out at college now, and I've had to get the appropriate hookups to set up my 360 and PS3 to output video to my LCD monitor and audio to my PC. That in and of itself wasn't that bad, but my monitor only has one DVI hookup and one VGA hookup. So, my PC and 360 are always hooked up since they use different video cables, but my PS3 sits unused the majority of the time since it only outputs to a DVI cable. It's a hassle to have to flip down my monitor and unhook one cable and plug in another every time I want to play my PS3, and it's especially annoying that if I want to use my PC for any reason I need to switch cables again. I looked around for a switch-box and the cheapest I could find for DVI ones was around $30. I'm not going to pay $30 just for the sake of convenience. Fuck cables.

I did the same thing with Batman: Arkham Asylum on Steam, and it took my game save with it. I can safely say I've learned my lesson.

I was already thoroughly enjoying Alien Swarm by playing it the way that the developers intended it to be played, music and all. Soon enough though, my roommate pointed out to me that there was an option in-game to choose your own battle music. I was immediately blown away that they would include something like this in the game. I hadn't bothered to go digging around in the audio options menu, so I probably wouldn't have found it at all, or at least not any time soon. At the time of this discovery, I had yet to complete the Jacob's Rest campaign, so I wanted the music I was going to add to contribute significantly to the overall atmosphere of the game. Not wanting to go through too much effort, I decided to go digging around in some of the video game soundtracks I already had on my computer and add some grim, ominous songs to create some more tension. What I have listed below is what I currently have in the game.

Track Listing

BioShock -  Steinman ( Listen
BioShock - The Dash ( Listen)
BioShock - The Engine City ( Listen)
Halo: Combat Evolved - Devils... Monsters... ( Listen)
Halo 2 - Ancient Machine ( Listen
Halo 3 - Gravemind ( Listen)
Mass Effect 2 - The Normandy Attacked ( Listen)
Mass Effect 2 - An Unknown Enemy ( Listen)

Some of the songs have a little calm bits in the beginning, but they pick up about half a minute into each. My personal favorite has to be 'Steinman', as it almost immediately opens up with an attack of orchestral disorder. This lends itself extremely well to some of the nerve-racking moments found in the game. Lately I've been debating whether or not I feel like switching my battle music to things that are a little more action packed, since I've played through the campaign multiple times already. I am curious as to whether or not anybody else has used this feature to enhance the gameplay experience, and if so, what your track list consists of.

Whenever I edit a wiki article, I always try to leave a comment in the little submission box at the bottom of the page. I'll type out a couple of short descriptions of what I've done, and it will submit just fine. When I look at my wiki submissions page though, it will show up as 'None' as if I didn't leave a comment at all. However, if I type out something really short like a couple of words, it will show up just fine. It looks like a bug to me, but it may be some invisible limit to the text field that I'm not aware of. Anybody else notice this or experience it?

For the record, I'm using Firefox 3.6.8 on 64-bit Windows 7 Professional.
