Even if this game was technically flawless, everything I have seen of the writing and character interaction just looks so disappointing compared to what I saw in the Mass Effect trilogy. It's weird to think of something that was likely worked on for half a decade as slapdash, but it's hard to justify how they would think this game was a worthy follow up.
Lists like these are sort of an eye opener as to how many games are really out there and how hard it must be to get any real exposure. I like to think of myself as having a decent idea of what is coming out, but I've only ever even heard about 3 of these titles.
I would rather see the guys in a smaller venue than crammed into a super tiny window in which nothing much happens. These shows are generally very entertaining, but this one just didn't do much for me.
Is anyone else having issues with this episode on Podcast Addict? Everything is super sped up and the guys basically sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks. I thought it was some sort of bit at first, but after it went on for a few minutes I realized it was the entire episode. Tried redownloading and the problem persists. No others seem to be affected.
I find it kinda weird that it's such a glowing review, 5/5, and yet doesn't address any of the problems Uncharted has had up till this point which 4 still hasn't addressed. Like "oh this is an Indiana Jones that goes and guns down hundreds of people without a thought." I read the Jim Sterling review which did address it, and his review did also address the fact that, yes, that and all the other narrative complaints which we've had in prior Uncharted games are still present here.
That's not saying it can't be still a great game, but I do find it odd that such criticisms didn't impact Dan's enjoyment, or his criticism of the game itself.
That is sort of the nature of most games that involve shooting. How many people die in the course of an average Call of Duty game? How many deaths was Indiana Jones involved in across the 4 movies in that franchise? I guess it could be seen as a little lazy to not address the toll such repeated massacres would take on someone, but it's kind of a common thing in most action games/movies.
Just downloaded this and it seems fun, though I can see why some people are deriding it for the chest stuff. It's all about self control. I am content to play a few matches and then wait for a chest to unlock.
