That controller is nice. I have more nostalgia for the PSOne revision because I owned it but the darker controller still brings back memories.

@hatking: It's not that obvious because you said price shouldn't necessarily impact a critique.

@hatking: I think your takeaway should be that the reviewer decides what impacts the critique.

Geometry Wars 2 was $10, not 15.

I wish Rorie was part of the editorial team.

Worth watching for Drew nostalgia. I still don't get why Jeff repeats that story about not being impressed with Halo.

Because it wasn't that impressive in the grand scheme of gaming. Gigantic leap in terms of console shooters and will probably never be topped in terms of impact for that genre for consoles. Like Jeff has said multiple times in the past though, which I agree with, if you were playing PC shooters all along Halo was kind of just a solid shooter.

If this is about the "grand scheme of gaming", shouldn't he realize that Halo CE transcends whatever opinion he had before it came out? A PC version came out and hundreds of people play online, 11 years later. I think it's okay to admit that it's special no matter what games/gaming systems you played before it.

He actually does say "there's nothing that plays like Halo" etc. but then he always goes back to the pointless story.

I don't think modern day would have been a good way to go with Assassin's Creed but a version in Eden after the Adam and Eve video seemed inevitable. That could have been cool but they seem to be done with the first humans/precursors/whatever stuff.

The first Horizon was 10 bucks a little while ago and I didn't buy it because I thought the open world in H2 looked so much better. I wonder what Jeff likes about the Colorado desert in the first game, maybe it's the layout or something. This looks amazing, the setting seems cool and it's open world(as I understand it, the first game is just open road). It doesn't seem like a contest.
