Amazing Racing 0

Need for Speed's Underground series gets a lot less reviews than later entries. Weird. It was Underground which somewhat paved the way for these games. Underground has great, realistic driving controls which give the thrill of realistic racing, and it has a cool, editable soundtrack with electronic, rock, and hip hop. There are many cars to buy with a lot of upgrades, including customizable vinyl with plenty of unlockable patterns and colors to choose from, as well as new parts for performance ...

Come On and Take an Air Ride! 0

Air Ride is an underrated game which serves as a good way to get rid of a lot of time. It kept me entertained for years and will for years to come. The game has three modes, all which have good pros. Air Ride is a simple race on colorful, imaginative courses. The obstacles are essential racing game items, and the designs are really good for the time. Top Ride is an overhead race with more laps, and great designs. It features new power-ups and is more like a battle than the previous one wh...

SSX 3 0

SSX 3 is the kind of game that has the feel of a great time in the snow, even though you know you're playing a video game where impossible yet point-scoring moves get all the ladies, especially when they can win platinum scores with enough practice. SSX 3 made up a large sum of my Nintendo Gamecube days. I have a lot of the classics on the GC, and SSX 3 was the one that made me feel like a real gamer since I was so good at it. Each file has many characters which players can built stats up, meani...

On Tour-age 0

SSX On Tour is the best of the SSX games. It's got the attitude that past games have been trying to go for but end up failing: the bad boy attitude. Until this game, you just felt like your were playing great snowboard games. With this game, I felt like my character. The thrills of the courses (with great level design), the great challenges, and the hard rock soundtrack all make this the best game of the series. It was games like this and SSX 3 that confirmed that SSX was one of my favorit...

In the Air, on Ground! 0

Star Fox Assuault is a decent shooter game with some cool controls. The fun of the previous 2 Star Fox games appears in both of these games with a cool points system and a great challenge. The only flaws are that the voice acting isn't very good at time, and the landmaster controls are a little wonky. It's still a fun game with some cool alien shooting, cool bosses, and good re-designs for the main characters. I like Slippy's Assault costume and Fox's facial features more in this game than in an...

Altered Beast is Underrated 0

It may be a great challenge, but it's worth the playtime. Anyone who can beat Altered best is a real gamer. Although Altered Beast may just be your average beat' em up on the outside, Altered Beast's short gameplay takes a long time to get through because of the true challenge. That's the cool thing about the game: it's notorious for being one of the most difficult games ever made, and it did get the Genesis some success. Altered Beast is another Sega classic. It's got multiple levels that seems...

Kid Chameleon 0

For another Sega side-scrolling platformer (Sega Genesis really has a lot of those), this game was very good. Kid Chameleon takes Sega's love for the 1980's and for platformers, and turns it into a pre-teens dream with neon and alternate forms. The many forms that the tough street kid Kid Chameleon can turn into have different abilities, which makes for a diverse array of power-ups. The game does not get very tiring, and the level design requires some thought process as opposed to the exploratio...

TMNT: The Hyperstone Heist 0

This game, when I played it, always reminded me of the Ninja Turtles II copy I had on NES. The game has a similar game feel similar to that of other beat 'em ups. And it makes more sense than the overly 80';s games like Streets of Rage, because I knew I would like Ninja Turtles in a game. The game has plenty of cool levels taking places in the sewers, the streets of New York, and even in the water when water-skiing. It can be a challenge but it can also be a little easy to beat, depending on you...

An Awesome Sequel 0

Almost reaching the same, unbelievable calibur that the old classic 1992 game known as, "Sonic the Hedgehog 2," came to, Sonic 3 manages to bring a stylish new look to the franchise with new music, new jingles, and new power-ups... and a great new echidna character with a really cool background. Sonic 3's got a few new tricks up its sleeves by reusing old ones. The level design wonderfully recycles old gameplay parts and reinvents them for new purposes, and even includes yet another new speci...

A Game With Games 0

Sonic and Knuckles is one of the greatest games ever. It's level design and soundtrack are vast improvements on the already great designs and music of 3. Also, it's surprisingly inventive, and not redundant since it uses the same special stages and gameplay as 3. Not only that, the game allows Sonic 3 to be put in, so that Sonic and Tails can play through 3 and straight into Sonic & Knuckles while finding ways to improve on the Chaos Emeralds and turn them into something new, creating ne...

Good Disney Game 0

Normally, games based off of cartoon characters or movies have a tendency to suck. However, because there is such a large amount of these kinds of video games, there will always be that one little game that is actually worth something. Mickey Mania may seem like a generic Sega Mega Drive side scroller, but it takes you through Mickey's History from the late 1920's all the way into the mid 1990's with some of Mickey's most notable short films, represented very well with challenging bosses and gre...

Wheel! Of! Popeye! 0

The title of my review pretty much says it all. Popeye no Eigo Asobi is not much. It's Hangman with characters from the Popeye TV show. The game feels like a cheap Hangman knock off / money grab for both the Nintendo and Popeye franchises with repetitive gameplay that is probably worth an hour of a person's time, and that's probably the maximum time amount. I suppose it may be fun enough for kids who just want to learn, but otherwise it won't please many people. Its simple and often disappo...

UnEpic is a little epic 0

UnEpic was the game that got me into medieval RPG's. I could never get into Final Fantasy 3 or Golden Sun until I played UnEpic. Now I really like both mentioned. UnEpic may take a long time to level up, but the amount of goods and spells one can obtain make it almost worth it. Not to mention, it's a funny game with some, and I'm serious about this, wonderful pop culture references. Sure, the game has a couple flaws. The music itself is repetitive and uninteresting, but there's a good sys...

Ride the Stars! 0

An interesting racing game that keeps some great Kirby charm, the vast amount of power-ups and unlockable vehicles and challenges make Kirby Air Ride a good racing game. There are 3 modes with 120 challenges. Unlockables include music, new skins, and vehicles. So there's a lot of content. These vehicles may be a bit unbalanced, but some of them are great for getting around. I personally like the Compact Star because it doesn't focus on one stat. The soundtrack has good remixes of plenty of ...

Third Gem's the Charm 0

I've spent my life playing Bejeweled. And I'm glad to say that Bejeweled 3 is undoubtedly one of the best gem match-up games out there. It may seem like the gem match-up games are all the same, but that is not the case. Bejeweled 3's just the best.New kinds of gems come with this game, like the rare Supernova gem and the Star gem. Plus, the game offers many new modes such as Ice Storm, which is a tower knocking mode, Diamond Mine, which offers many treasures, Poker, and a personal favorite,...

Super Sonic Sequel! 0

Sonic the Hedgehog had a lot going for it, but Number 2 improved on all of the features making for more of an exploration-heavy challenge, and includes a lovable new character! Sonic 2 is easily one of the best games ever made. The levels are very large. The amount of paths that can be taken include many lampposts that can be used as special stage portals, meaning there's more reason to try and find them! Plus, the music is so much better, bringing in a lot of new and unique tunes that match ...

F-Zero At its Fastest 0

F-Zero GX is easily the best game in the F-Zero franchise. However, it does have flaws. I'll go over the flaws first. The game is extremely hard. The difficulties don't seem to match what they claim to be, and this is coming from an eight-year F-Zero player. F-Zero GX's four difficulty levels are much harder. Novice (Easy) is more like a medium level, Standard (Medium), is hard, Expert (Hard) is very hard, and Master (Hardest) is freaking unbelievable. And I love racing games. It's my favo...

Worst Game I've Ever Played 0

Power Rangers Time Force is as good of a video game as the whole of Power Rangers is inventive. In other words, the game sucks horribly, HORRIBLY. The level design is extremely generic throughout, and the gameplay is predictable and as redundant as the show itself. Not to mention, the game is short. It's so short, I beat it in nearly a half hour, maybe a little more. The story is extremely predictable. Then again, the show is. Now, I've played plenty of film-turned-into-games. And a lot...

64 Stars! 0

In everyone's favorite "save-the-princess" series," Mario jumps into action again in his most popular game! Introducing a whole new kind of game-play, the player experiences new worlds and new villains in an amazing 3D environments that are so lovable they're impassible. The wonderful music improves the already perfect scenery, and can possibly make up for the wonky camera. Mario also has many new moves and tricks up his sleeve that made their own ways into various other 2D/3D Mario games.Su...

A Forgotten Sega Classic 0

Sonic this, Sonic that... Get some Vectorman in there. Vectorman is a cool, collected, and crazy video game that takes the average Sega platformer and puts a twist on their normal stuff. Usually, their Genesis games are Sonic-esque in the sense that they travel to a goal collecting power-ups and specific items to give you more lives. However, this is different. Vectorman put a twist on the "Sega" game.Character: What are Sega characters known for? Usually, hand-to-hand combat is something they h...

Games At It's Prime 0

The Metroid series was very notable for being 2D platformers, but the very aspect that set Metroid aside from other series was a clear Alien-film based influence that kept a creepy aura, freaky creatures, and a female protagonist. Metroid Prime 3 manages to keep all of that, and turn itself into a wonderful 3D action-adventure platformer with shooter elements that makes the creepy, sci-fi, techno-orchestrated, environment heavy saga where any game play can be made amazing with Metroid. As we al...
