Hello friends, I hope you're all doing well.

I haven't written a personal blog in a while, because for the most part, this websites community is pretty self indulgent, and nobody cares what people write on the internet. That old trope. But I wanted to just share a couple of things with you, I guess, that I'm kind of into.

I've been playing King's Bounty: The Legend recently, and it's pretty great, but it's really fucking hard. It's essentially fantasy battle chess. You control 5 groups of units, which range from Knights, to Swordmans, Archers, then more bizarre units like Polar Bears, Gorgonites, Titans, Griffins and other such fantasy bollocks. It's a great game. The RPG element is good. Deep enough where you'll have to plan your fights, but easy enough where you can pick it up and just fight some bad mans. A great game, you might enjoy it if you like Fantasy RPGS, Griffins fighting Wolves or hex based RTS. Besides that, I'm honestly not playing too many games these days. TF2 is always a little guilty pleasure, but I only really play enough per day to unlock a weapon, which leads to a hat. I got my first one last week, which was the Engineers Safe N' Sound. It's pretty shit, but it looks alright I guess. I'm sure I can find someone to trade for the medic goggles if the trading ever comes in.

I guess outside of that, I've recently watched the first season of Twin Peaks. It was pretty great. The music was spectacular, and the FBI dude was amazing. Such an interesting character, I think I need to watch season 2 soon, I guess I'll get on that shit. I've kind of been watching anime on/off. I recently picked up Bleach, and got up to Soul Society, but fell out of it. Not that I dislike it, I've just been too busy.

However, something I have been doing recently, which took about 3/4 weeks, is reading One Piece. That was a fucking tour de force of emotions. Arbasta was brilliant, but Water 7/ Enies Lobby were the absolute high point of any shonen I've read. However, the recent Whitebeard War saga was out of this world. It had Ace and Whitebeard, so I was without a doubt sold. One Piece is brilliant, you should all read it. It's basically an incredible pirate adventure series with incredibly deep character development. Also Ace!

Finally, I guess the most IMPORTANT THING is that I'm moving next week. I went to pick up my keys today, and got entirely lost on the way. I overshot by about 4 miles (on foot no less), but finally found it. It's absolutely spectacular. It's huge, and the kitchen and bathroom are excellent. I will make a new blog when I move in properly. I'm planning on moving half my shit on Wednesday, then the rest on Saturday. I'm very excited, moving is always nerve wrecking, but it's a week before uni starts and I'm moving in with my best friend. Let the good times roll!

How have you all been? Anything interesting happening for you that's similar to me? Is anyone else moving back to Uni shortly and excited/nervous aswell? What have you all been playing/watching?

Thanks for reading!

I didn't understand anything in the 4th paragraph, but i'm ok with that.

Kings Bounty sounds pretty similar to those oldschool Heroes Of Might and Magic games I used to play. They were a lot of fun, in a fucked up kind of way. I often refused to go out adventuring unless my party was up to scratch, so I would spend hours repeatedly visiting the same 6 hex squares until I could afford an army worth owning.

I have been meaning to watch twin peaks for a while, I should probably check that out.

Where are you going to uni? Fresher?

My wife and I have lived in the same house for 19 years, the thought of moving frightens the hell out of me. Sooooo much stuff.

I remember watching Twin Peaks when it came on the TV. I got bored with it after a while. The soundtrack was awesome. Actually, I was a big fan of David Lynch for a long time, but recently I find him lacking. I enjoy his older work so much more.

Video game wise, I've been Red Dead Redemption, just finished playing Super Mario Galaxy 2, only 71 stars, can't go on. I just bought Mass Effect 2 Wednesday, oh boy is that game good.

Good luck with the move and learn something at Uni.

I think it's often compared to HOMM actually, but I never played one.  It's really neat. And about uni, going back for 4th and final year now. Had to drop first year cause I got seriously ill, so I've got an extra year to go. Excited to get back, but kinda nervous, just about moving back in. The place we picked is gorgeous though, I was stunned to see it was as good as I imagined. I need to start my dissertation too soon, yikes. However, I guess I've got it all planned out, so not too big of a deal. Back to Manchester in the next week. Shit yeah art school!

I think the most telling part for me was being able to condense my entire lifes material gain into several small boxes, it got pretty real about then. How did you find Galaxy as opposed to Galaxy 2? I think because I played Galaxy in March, and Galaxy 2 when it came out, it didn't really feel that different, or special. Maybe I had 3d mario fatigue, but for want of a less cliched analogy, it was a bit "Samey"

I've tried to come up with the words to describe how I felt about Super Mario Galaxy 2. I wrote one time that it felt like all gameplay and no soul. I know Nintendo games are polished, but this one felt too much so. Needless to say, I liked the first one better. But I got burned out on both, SMG 87 stars traded in the game, SMG2 71 stars and traded in the game.

The first season of Twin Peaks is about as close to perfect as I can fathom. That shooting scene with Senor Droolcup strikes a perfect balance between hilarity and agonizing tension. The second season sags a little bit here and there, but the finale is horrifying. I fell asleep watching the last few episodes of Season 2 and the finale woke me up with stuff that nobody should EVER have to deal with while they're half-asleep.

Just broke out King's Bounty recently, too. I keep getting killed by my belt. The goofy irreverence shot through that game is excellent. Really excited for Crossworlds later this week. Also, I actually managed to get a hold of the original King's Bounty for Sega Genesis. Playing that game with a genesis controller and choosing to save my game (at which point, I'm greeted with an absurdly long code to pump in next time I play) is probably the most surreal thing I've experienced in the past few weeks.

Personally, listening to the new Grinderman album and cludging my way through The Wire when I have the time. Great show.
