Christmas 2010

Allright, let's start this blog with an image:

But the games in the picture above mean the most to me because they were gifted to me by my girlfriend. That might sound ordinary, but to me it isn't. We have not been together for Christmas because she went for one last family-vacation for the Christmas break. But she planned this out meticulously.
Looking back I remember her asking casually: Sooo, what platform do you prefer for your games, Your Xbox 360 or your PS3? And as usual I went off on a rant, expaling how the 360 was first on the market and that I am now so invested on that platform due to the achievements that I buy all of my games that are multi-platform on the Xbox 360. Little did I know she was already planning this whole.
She sent me on a scavenger hunt for Assassin's Creed 2 on December 25th, called me on December the 26th and sent me on another crazy scavenger hunt for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. Lo and behold on December the 27th she had hid one more thing: A gift coupon to the local game-store! On the way to the store I actually found 20 euros on the ground, which led me to buying Donkey Kong Country Returns & Super Mario Galaxy 2.
She had also bought me Shadow of the Colossus back in the day off of her first pay-check because I've so been wanting to play it. She remembers what games I am excited about and drove me to the big midnight-releases of Cataclysm. When we were there she excitingly dragged me inside and we bought the collectors edition of Cataclysm & the guide, although I had already pre-ordered and paid for another version, but could only get my hands on that the next day. (I'll be selling that unopened one in the future)
In short, she's epic. :) Especially when I remember how my ex-girlfriend scoffed at my hobby. It makes me appreciate this all the more....
