I've been playing on xbox and enjoying the experience. Goldeneye's approach to difficulty levels is still fantastic, offering up not just harder combat, but more varied mission objectives. Also its extremely generous auto-aim (made at a time when navigating an FPS on a controller wasn't set in stone) does a great job at making you feel like an assassin with a license to kill. There are some weird technical quirks - the frame drops are funny (and weirdly in the spirit of the original) and the onscreen text is overly blurry and clipped, but it's still surprisingly playable. Most importantly, shooting office chairs still results in fiery explosions which is tremendous.
This has weirdly hit me harder than the Vinny/Brad/Alex departure and even Jeff G. There was a kind of inevitability leading up to those instances, but nu-bomb felt like it was really finding its feet and this has just sucked all the wind out of the sails for me :(
Everything changes, always. Doesn't mean it can't hurt but you learn to expect it, even look forward to it. This crew has a fantastic energy. I'll continue to support Jeff, like I do Nextlander and Waypoint too. There's something special about the people that come through this place.
I haven't posted on the forums in a while (life has been BUSY) but hell yeah they're wonderful folks who slipped into the crew as if they'd always been here. As someone who watched a bunch of the Silent Hill stuff Jess made with bobvids, seeing her guide Jan through Silent Hill on here has been truly wonderful.
Jess and Jan are both absolute kings. Long may they reign!
