The sad part is you can't give them negative reviews because they are "free". But yeah, app store is full of the same stuff repeated ad nauseum with the exact same hooks to get you to pay for stuff. I'm pretty sure these games are meant to appeal to kids who have no concept of value for money.

This game is why 3D was made.

It's the goal of every new generation to confuse the fuck out of the old generation.

I never noticed Brad was in the jaded gamer camp before. He always seemed like the one of the gang that seemed to like and get giddy about everything. Though it's certainly possible I just wasn't obsessed with Brad and wasn't really paying attention.

Don't get me wrong though, I love this "new" jaded Brad. Since, well, I can relate to that more. Plus it's just plain more entertaining.

Weird commentary from Jeff, since games have had this sort of crazy future stuff before.

I think there will always be people that get jazzed about a sci-fi universe and those that want games more grounded in reality. Even if the military may, possibly, get to this point in some far off future.

I'm starting to wonder what I ever expected out of this next generation of consoles.

I'm not sure what I need to see to proclaim "we've arrived"

And I don't mean that in a snarky negative way, I'm not really sure what I'm waiting for, I think it was obvious what I wanted last gen, now I'm just not sure what I'm waiting for.

I'm, fairly, sure it's not virtual reality.

On the other hand that long dead thing pinball seems exciting again, with that Wizard of Oz table being pretty neat. Hopefully that Hobbit table doesn't end up being Episode 1 to PInball 2000 all over again.

This definitely seems like one of those checkmark games that a next generation console needs to have. Though I guess Dead Rising 3 was already checking that mark...

Or it's simply another game for those types that feel the need to buy every half decent game that comes out on their brand new system. This is the "getting away with murder" stage of a console's life cycle.

Jason is the perfect straight man foil to Dan's pure insanity.

It's funny, it's like Giant bomb hired Dan and a carer! :P

I agree, it was funny hearing Jason act genuinely disgusted at how happy Dan was getting.

Unexpected and great piece of content.

On a side note I hope Vinny does some off the wall content like this. His quick looks so far aren't doing much for me. I think he mentioned once that he wants to do more stuff that isn't necessarily just playing videogames while still in SF. Hopefully he actually does that in NY.

This is one of those games that if every character didn't play the same it would probably be substantially better. At least in theory. I mean there are some differences based on the demo, but in the end it still feels like a fighting system that gets in the way of feeling like you are actually playing the characters.

The only chance I would get this game is if I'm particularly bored, in a moment of weakness. I want to like these games, but it just feels a bit too random, like worse than Marvel vs. Capcom often feels. Chaotic in a bad way.

Also, the 3ds version doesn't really look particularly hot.

Neither game is really that chaotic tbh. You either get it or you don't, like with any complex game. Though it sounds like you don't like fighting games in the first place.

What would make you say that? I love fighting games. Just not the two I mentioned. Everyone isn't going to like every type of fighting game. I'm sure it's not the first time you've heard someone who liked fighting games not like either of those two games.
