Top 5 most over-rated games of all time.

List items

  • The Halo series of games are widely known for two things:

    1. Their multiplayer and 2. Their community of pre-pubescent boys.

Neither are anything that amazing (Except for number two, if you're into that thing). Halo 3 really just seems to be a slower, more serious take on the Unreal Tournament style of games. You run around jumping 6ft in the air and you can take about 60 shots to the head before getting into the red zone, you all fight over the best gun then jump around the middle of the arena spamming plasma grenades.

How people can believe it's the grand daddy of FPS's I'll never know, whilst it's not exactly a bad game it definantly isn't anything good either.

  • Newest game in the long running cash cow series of Call of Duty games, it adds nothing note-worthy to the table and is basically a $60 expansion pack.

The campaign is the same as any Michael Bay B-grade action flick, explosions everywhere and a story that makes as much sense as buying an iMac for gaming. It's 2-5 hours long and offers little to no replayability whatsoever. The Multiplayer takes a step in the wrong direction offering no dedicated servers, no mod tools and the anti-piracy and cheat measures are laughable at best. I guess this also applies to Call of Duty 4, too.

Yet people believe it's the best thing to happen since internet porn.

  • Bioshock isn't exactly that amazingly popular (Probably due to it lacking any form of multiplayer) but it's also one of the most over-rated games in recent history.

You run around a linear, dark and damp underwater city killing generic zombie mutant guys with World War era weaponry, unlike other games on this list the story is actually quite good but the poor combat and over-all lousiness of the game makes it hard to keep playing for more than 10 minutes.

  • Though a franchise and not a single game (There are way too many to list!), it deserves to be on here none-the-less.

Guitar Hero/ DJ Hero/ Rock Band/ Kill Mother With a Blunt Object Hero is the latest fad in musical gaming, and unlike Sing Star it seems like it's going to be here for awhile.

The game plays like a giant quick time event, as you try to move your fingers around the cheap plastic guitar to hit the right buttons at the right time. This can take some getting used to and it can definantly be fun but it's definantly not worth the hundreds of dollars you have to spend on it.

  • It's buggy, un-polished, un-stable and lacks alot of depth and and key-features in RPG games.

It (while definantly not a a bad game) is sorely over-rated, the story is dreadful, the characters feel like soul-less robots and the character progression is lacking.

It's definantly not the "super awsum hfomfggggzzz rpg winrar" game people make it out to be.

Not only does it require alot of mods and addons to be enjoyable, it also requires alot of patches (official and fan-made) to be halfway playable.
