If you needed Prove Ranked mode means nothing I have it

So I was playing ranked mode working on getting characters to C rank for the god forsaken achievement. So I started on ken and my first match was a mirror match my 0 BP ken vs this guys 3200 BP ken. I think great im gonna get shit on. But match starts and this guy turns out to be a mashing whore  who jumps around like a tard, and I end up raping him like he is my prison bitch. I laugh at him and bask in my victory over this jackass, and keep playing.

Then of course things must come full circle and a few matches later I play a 800BP blanka. He is a random ass crap blanka but the universe take pleasure in kicking me in the nuts. I make some dumbass mistakes and lose then in a bit of  irony this lame ass blanka sends me a message. Calling me a scrub ken. I love it.

So for anyone who thinks there badass cause they have so much PP or BP or ranked so high. Trust me thats not saying a whole lot. Your basically the best student in special-ed class. The opposite is true as well if you think you suck cause your lose in ranked mode. You probably don't random ass scrubs win sometimes it happens.

Ranked mode means shit my friends play it to get the dumb shit achievement thats about it.

I think PP actually holds more weight. It's not perfect but if someone has 4k BP with a certain character with only 500 PP you can tell they're not so great.

BP means nothing compared to PP.  If someone with 500PP goes against someone with 3K PP, the 500PP dude will get beaten up, especially if the 3K dude chooses a character with more BP than the other guy.

I think it would be better if class was associated with one's PP and not BP, but oh well.

PP still isn't all that reliable since you lose your PP no matter what character your using. Hell I lost a ton of PP trying to win matches with characters I don't use trying to get them to c rank.

BP means nothing except how long the person's been playing that character in ranked. That's it. If I saw a 15kBP Ken with 300PP I would still know he was gunna be ass. I feel like I'm being personaly put on blast with this thread lol but I'm not bothered.

I don't even really know you or how this thread is putting you on blast. But it wasn't meant to.

It makes sense to lose PP if you lose though. Since you can lose a lot of it if you get beat by someone lower then your skill level "pp". You shouldn't be losing to these people. There are flaws in the system though. Pros who JUST got the game can rank up way easily.

PP makes more sense since it's the player's overall performance playing ranked matches.  BP increases faster than PP and decreases less in losses.  And all in all, the number of the PP and BP doesn't really tell how good you are.  It just tells how much you play Ranked matches.  I have played 0 PP and 0 BP that really kicked my ass online.  You'll meet better players in Endless than Ranked.

I agree but a major "Flaw" with the system is it doesn't use BP in the skill match-ups so if you have 2k pp but your using a character you say have 0bp with. You get someone the same skill as you but chances are that person is using there main they could have 8k BP with.

If it worked that way then their wouldn't need to be a PP system to begin with if you think about it.

I don't really care about either BP or PP. If I lose to someone it's not because they had more BP or PP than me, it's because they out-played me, scrubbily or not.

I play ranked because I don't have to wait around watching others like in Endless.

This doesn't really prove anything. The points have nothing to do with ranked as far as I'm concerned.

Haha rage quitters are the best. What would gaming be like without them? :p

i like ranked mode for divesity but the match making is horrible, because i often get the same person 5 times in a row.

anyway, i face this one sagat player sometimes on ranked who has like a million points and hes pretty awful.

s/sf4 is the type of game where really bad players can actually win a lot, so its to be expected.

The game is supposed to match players based on PP, but I don't think the game cares too much about it.  I get matched against people with 1000-1500 PP waaaay more often than I should, like ever.  My PP is around 200.  I have been playing mostly endless, and... I suck.  But that's not the point.  The point is, that even if there is nobody near my skill on, I should not be paired with those people.

@Necrotrophic: Oh, sorry.  I thought you meant that there are no low level players of that magnitude online.

@Necrotrophic: I usually get matched up with dudes that are 500-700.  That seems fine for the most part.  I just got my 3peat trophy, and all of them were 500+.  The problem is when they have 10x as much PP as me.  The way I play ranked is by going into arcade and allowing ranked matchups.  I always have skill level at same.  The game could very well just leave me be in arcade mode if there is nobody near my skill on, but instead it just puts me with whoever regardless of skill.

@Chubbaluphigous: When you host, I don't think there is an option for skill level requests. Only when you seek a match can you dictate search criteria. If I am wrong please correct me.

PP/BP don't mean jack. I shat on a couple 9k bp/4k pp scrubs tonight, and was absolutely destroyed by a less then 1k bp/pp Rose.

@Stang: You can specify skill level when hosting only if you set it up through arcade mode.
