You know... it's kinda amazing to me that I'm trying to be "un-hyped" into RB3, yet hearing those guys talk about what they've done and the care of trying to make it better is really impressive.

Don't need more plastic, but do need more songs & tours.

@limewizard: Well griped.  I tend to agree with you regarding online gaming throwing you to the wolves. I tend to shy away from online gaming for that reason. If I ever play online, it will only be for a day or two at a time, until I get my fill and move on to something else.

I like story, and I like progression. Sure, many online systems now have progression built in, but it's usually so repetitive. I've always liked RPG's for that reason - I can progress at my own pace and move the story to a more interesting area if I get bored. I would enjoy some competition with people, but the handful of people who have mastered each game ruin it for me.

@D6Chicago: Thanks for the tip! ...I remember hearing that around somewhere, but it's a good reminder.

Yeah man, where ya been?   Staff fanboys are awesome like that  :/ "
Yeah, yeah I know. I've been lurking this site for a looooooooooooong time.  But THIS level of  wankery is unlike anything I've seen so far on this site.  271 comments  of a pretty embarrassing article  and over  90% of the comments are ''LOLJEFFILUVU '' "
In all fairness, I do actually LOLJEFFILUVU.

@AgentJ: dang.

Do I understand you right in that several of those games you own, but have not played? TERRIBLE!!!! ...j/k I have many of those  myself - for X360, Wii, VC, & XBLA... yeah, several...

Here's the kicker - my Wii pile of shame includes Twilight Princess, Mario Galaxy, Prime 3 Corruption, & Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn! Only booted them, except for 1 or 2 stars in Galaxy from a previous rental.

However, I've played almost 25 hours of Monster Hunter already and loving it! Note: kinda high barrier of entry. @Al3xand3r:  Props to getting me over the fence and into the happy pasture.

" I'm juggling Oblivion, FO3 and DA:O all on the PC right now (and ODST, but that's off topic) and I prefer Bioware's dialog and storytelling over Bethesda's.  When Bethesda succeed over Bioware is the the grand scale of their worlds.  You can truly just ignore the main quest and still have hours and hours of entertaining game play in one of their games.  Bioware definitely keeps the player on a much shorter leash, but that's so they can craft a tighter story for the player.    I love both game makers immensely, but Bioware edges out Bethesda because their characters feel more real to me.   "
^^^ this is the most genuine answer yet.

They both make great games... very, very different games. For me, Bioware games tickle some mystical itch from when I played the Star Wars table-top RPG as a 7th grader. I feel like the grand space vistas and plots (okay, our plots were terrible - but they were awesome in my head) that appeared out of my imagination are finally matched by the Mass Effect games.

On the other hand, Fallout 3 is amazing. As far as the scope of the world goes, I feel it is unparalleled. Also, I've never truly felt like an explorer in an RPG like I have in Fallout 3. However, my personal vote goes to Bioware.
