FF VI has the best story and the most unique setting I think. The sort of magic infused early industrial theme isn't one often explored. The battle system, while not as good as FF Vs, has really cool unique abilities for each character and more customization than most entries in the franchise. The PSX games don't hold up well as the load times are unbearable and they look like the dire straits money for nothing video taking place on beautifully rendered realistic backgrounds.
Japanese game (translated in english though). Turn based mech game, with turn base battles. You could customise your mech. Setting was (I think) Japan in the future, and you could move from town to town. Very nice story plot. Often there were battles against police mechs, very hard. I used to love this game (about 15 years ago) but then I lost it. Was basically a turn based RPG with mechs in future Japan, with a complex and interesting story plot. Thank you!
