This doesn't look to be any different gameplay than the recent Far Cry games. Lemme guess; climb tower and get more map, pick plants for serums, kill animals for upgrades, take out outposts to set up base camp, do missions/side quests/et al.
So, basically the same tired thing we've seen since Far Cry 3? Sure, maybe the story is interesting, but how is it going to stand up to tedious gameplay?
Maybe but the possibility of a refined version of this where I get to vicariously kill racist folks sounds immensely cathartic. I don't want to discount how good that feels.
I always got the impression Ken Levine would rather work in film than games. Same with Kojima.
I'd love for Kojima to dip his toes in film making so he could get the long deserved reality check on his writing and story telling abilities that he doesn't get with the gaming press. His games are a blast to play but good god are they a dumpster fire when it comes to narrative.

edit: You know this game kinda makes me sad... why use such a dark setting for a carrot-on-a-stick social shooter? It's so depressing, and they aren't making any important artistic statements... why would I want to spend time in this world leveling up a character if it just makes me sad? YAY let's kill everyone in NYC and burn the iconic Macy's store down while I shoot some bullet sponges!! Great time!

Yeah, well this is pretty much exactly what I expect from the GB community. They set out to hate something and then make up shit to hate about it. I mean, not every game is for everybody, but nearly 90,000 people are concurrently playing it on Steam right now. It's pretty alright.
The Nutty Professor made millions of dollars but that doesn't mean it's immune to criticism. Good for you thinking it's alright, I'm glad you're happy with your purchase. In the mean time, try being less of a dick to fellow community members who are sharing reasonable criticisms of the game. Thanks.
I'm not the biggest fan of that stuff in MGS5 either, but woof, that's a surprisingly personal attack on Kojima there.
Calling him a perv? Not an attack when he has openly stated Quiet looks the way she does because he wanted it to be "more erotic". Also there was this so it's pretty safe to say he's being really pervy with Quiet.
