It's not a big upgrade or external processing box, the PS4 still does all the work. The breakout box converts that work for TV input/display, while simultaneously feeding to the PSVR. However the breakout box does process 3D audio unsure if that means no PS4 GPU/CPU cycles spent are Audio. Sounds like maybe it's just an effect or enhancement?
But there are a surprising number of modes and features that are either missing completely or coming later that should have been included at launch.
I think it would've been nice if you had expanded on this. Why should more single player content be included in launch? Is it only missing because it's been announced to come at a later date?
Pretty much everyone is declaring that as is, such features should be included period. But when I think about it, even my own reasoning doesn't seem to go beyond perceived loss. What I mean by that, is that because of heightened expectations people believe they're not getting as much content as they think they should.
Lastly, I'm a fan of this release schedule over something like an "ultra" release in 2017.
Sorry Jason, but Critical Art is just the new name for Supers. There is no analogue for Ultra Combos.
I'm glad they're pushing the game out for CPT but the lack of other stuff is really gonna hurt their review scores and potential sales. I wonder if it wouldn't have been better to recontextualize this as something like a SFV prologue with the "full" release coming in March when the challenge mode gets released. It would still make fiscal year and maybe turn off fewer casual players.
That might have been a good route. Though it would require them to re-release the game again on disc I think. Hmm, I wonder if they will do that anyways in November/December.
Or what if the February release was straight digital?
This sounds brilliant. That said, it's not too clear on where these freelancers are coming from. Are we talking about official freelance journalists? Guests journalists from other sites? Community members who happen to have a way with words? All of the above? Just curious. :)
Sounds like all of the above. Most important thing is that they've got a budget to pay people for contributing. I remember Jeff and Patrick talking about this a few years ago.
Is this true? Is GB paying for this freelance work?
This information was left out. I feel that it's very important for members of the site to know you value these guest contributions. Apologies if I'm giving the impression that I am assuming you're not. I just don't know.
I miss written material by all of the staff and was never into the Thursday or Friday live shows. To much time commitment for me to watch and or participate. Have always been grateful to those in the community that make the the compilation/best of vids.
