Other than their biographies, the games always refer to the Slug Team as "Marco," "Tarma," "Fio," and "Eri" instead of using their extended names.

[EDIT] The Metal Slug 7 instruction booklet lists them as "Marco Rossi," "Tarma Roving," and "Fio Germi" as well.

I say let the English games be "Taisen" and let the others, as well as the franchise, be "Wars." Banpresto's giving us an official translation for the title, so why not use it?

I believe that the two U.S. games should be a nonfactor in the decision, given that those two games represent less than 10% of the entire franchise. Yes, we should use the American names for their individual games, but the franchise goes way beyond those two games. It's also why I think the "Advance Wars" franchise should be renamed "Famicom Wars" or "Nintendo Wars" or something like that.

If we always follow the Japanese romanization verbatim, then what should we do about Japan-exclusive Gundam games, which usually have "Mobile Suit Gundam" on the cover (sometimes much larger than the Japanese name)?
