@solidus_zero: 1. Hardcore History is riddled with errors please don't take as fact. 2. Horses and guys in armour feature heavily in both trailers for the game.

I get more of a Dune than a 40k vibe but it looks wicked. Definitely going to check out the final thing. To anyone thats played this they say its built for a controller and not to buy a hotas but does it have joystick support? I use one for elite, freespace and seems like it'd work here so long as they let you issue orders with the hat.

@soap: Glad I wasn't alone on this. Nowadays when I see one and they look similar I don't even bother watching it. Look Austin, we get it, you like games that are strategic and use your brain and what not, but for real stop showing them!

Or maybe you stop watching these? You said yourself how easy it is to tell what sort of video it will be so don't click. I had never heard of this game it looks right up my alley so I am glad they showcased it. You lose nothing by them doing videos of games you're not into.

It's a good thing that this turned out this way but part of me wants to see the thing they had planned for endless Zelda. Not because I want to see more Zelda but because I miss the E3 trainwrecks where segments go overlong.

I'm getting ready to fire up 6th edition with my old crew soon, though, so Total War's gotten me back in. God help me, I'm back in.

What had you settle on 6th? My friends and I are going to "stop the clock" on WHFB and just continue playing our armies ignoring Age of Sigmar but haven't picked a ruleset to use. We looked at Kings of War but it's just not quite the same so we leaning 8th because of all the magical items you can use to mix stuff up.

I'm probably not the first person to make this connection but all I can think about when I see this game is you could totally palette swap this into a game about a Middle Eastern country that is occupied by the US and have it be waaaaay more interesting.

Jeff's total disdain for older weapons is puzzling. Modern shooters are basically 80 variations of rapid fire gun be it SMGs, LMG, assault rifles or even full auto pistols these days. In older settings you still get your rapid fire weapons in the form of SMGs, HMGs and LMGs but you also get semi-autos and bolt-actions. There were a lot of different guns in WW1 let alone WW2 which he also seems to think has "broken" guns. Maybe he just doesn't like not having modern sights?
