That pin will most likely not be the pre-order item. It's being given out to A person who has played Prtal 2 at PAX and to someone who donated money to childs play. I can see this being like the wiki cap, polycount pin or the community/self made weapons.
You can email them and ask them If you tell them you want to upgrade to the Collectors edition I'm sure they'd love to take more money from you. I'm not sure what time they sold out of the first patch of the PS3 copies. But when I woke up (at noon est) Joystiq had already posted saying that the PS3 copy had sold out.
@Godlyawesomeguy: If you ordered it before it sold out I BELIEVE you got a copy with extraction. They've re-posted the PS3 version but this is a second run of the game and won't contain extraction. The Collector's Edition does still have Extraction.
