Good to see that 19 weeks in, Dan -still- doesn't know how to play except for mashing square and crying about it. Amazing!

Amen. I kinda feel like this would have been a Vinny game maybe. The combat isn't even that complex, I love you Dan but you're definitely that guy who in Street Fighter will try to jump in, gets anti aired and then proceeds to try and jump in like 10 times just to get anti aired every time and then just pulls the plug on the console. Just stop mashing and think for a second. I know it probably makes it harder that you guys only play this once a week but still. This series could have been so good!

It's probably worth mentioning about the eye pressure thing that only the old school shit shoots air in to your eye in a way you notice it, if you go to a proper eye doctor you won't even know they took the reading before they say "alright done" because their machinery is better

Just because the heat system is a bit unclear I'll write very short list of bulletpoints on it, even though I'll forget something for sure:

  • Heat opportunity is indicated by the icon in top right corner (it will disappear when you're attacking aka it's hard to spot while mashing)
  • There are default heats that require 1 bar which are
    • Off a grab (contextual but there is always one available, environmental objects such as railings, bridges and above the ground areas have instant kill heat moves)
    • Enemy is on the ground (animation depends on how they are lying)
  • Every item you can grab has a heat move
    • Many of animations are the same, on base level they are different for small, medium and heavy objects
    • Some have unique heat animations and may or may not require level 2 heat (baseball bat, the nails, tea kettle etc)

I think that's the very basics. You unlock more powerful and complex heat moves via trainers and the sphere grid. I hope I didn't overstep by explaining this thing but I figured you guys want more cool stuff to happen and I think the game is really bad with explaining this stuff :D

E: Oh yea and each style has unique heat moves, both basic and ones you get from trainers / sphere grid

Excitement! I hope they figure out soon that the icon for heat actions is in the top right corner, since there are about 10 minutes worth of unique heat actions just for Kiryu

I feel like Dan completely undersold the parry mechanic and now frustration ensues because Drew doesn't realize its the one constant thing in this game that's used all the time :D

You can use the ducks as a jumping platform, its just a pretty precise timing and if you don't make it you fall through to the poison :D
