It's gonna be a bit chunky. kind of like one of those dlc's. You can do it all in one go, but there's alot of reapers to wade through between you and the ending. In my memory it's a few "segments" worth of gameplay, but doable in one go. Treat it like you would the omega dlc thing or that bullshit with your clone in terms of time budgeting and you should be good.
There's actually ALOT of story left to do in the post-clone part of the citadel. You can check your terminal for emails where squadmates will ask you to come meet them for a hangout cutscene, you can invite them to your apartment for an extra hangout cutscene, and then when you return to your apartment it queues up the next set of hangouts. You basically want to check your terminal, look for squadmates on your map, then go back to your apartment and check your terminal and map again for the next round of hangouts. After you're out of those you're clear to do the party and then head out for the endgame.
@twolines: @xdeser2: While I'm fine with the Leviathan Explanations, I didn't realize how many similarities it has to the Halo games' thing with the Forerunners and the Rings and the Flood. Preserve what you can, cleanse the rest, reset back to 1.
I say do Citadel now. It actually works completely fine to chip away at Citadel and Leviathan during the whole game, but the way Citadel ends, specifically after doing all of the extra story stuff after you finish the main part of it, is a great final sendoff right before heading off to kick cerberus in the reaper balls.
People saying "play it after" are headcanon'ing explicitly, as even citadel dlc mentions things that are happening before the ending of the game.
