  • @Diamond said: " Faceball 2000, was out before Wolf 3D or Doom, but still not the first.   "Definitely the first "deathmatch" experince I ever had. Between this and cybersled, it's hilarious what used to be considered playable in terms of this genre...

  • JazGalaxy replied to the topic Unamed Country MY ARSE! in the Grand Theft Auto IV board.
I think they got the "unknown country" context due to the fact that Nico and Roman's stories of what happened/ is happening in the old country might not match up to the current politics of the area.  I'm not remotely familiar with european politics, though.

  • This quick look seems incredibly unfair to Activision and judging by the responses it's getting from people saying they won't buy the game based on it... effective in stopping people from purchasing the game.  You guys need to stop doing quick looks on tutorials and "easy" levels of games of which frequently have little to do and no conflict to speak of. of COURSE it looks boring.

  • @Binman88 said: " @Raven_Sword said: " @AgentJ: It just seems like XBOX is trying more to Revolutionize stuff than SONY is. "I'd agree that Sony aren't really trying anything new, but I wouldn't go so far as to say Microsoft are revolutionising anything with the XBOX. They're just including internet applications, which for me, have no place on a console. I think both companies could stand to gain from some ...

  • I can't remember the last time Sony had an original good idea. Sure they've had ideas.. like Home... but everything they have done from the start has been "me too".  They're strategy has always been to do what the other companies do except give you  "more of it" and call it power. The PS3 is the first time it backfired on them.  You liked the Snes controller? Ours is the same but with ...

  • I think stuff like this hilarious and welcome. yes it's silly, but some us don't take games deathly seriously. I wish Sega would do more of this kind of thing. AKA Space Channel 5 part 3.

And then Wind Waker mentions a lot of things from Ocarina of Time... and then Wind Waker has it's sequels, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. So then by this we know that:  OoT->MM->WW->PH->ST  Now, the other games must fit in there somewhere... Twilight Princess, well that's a tough one. It has some of the same things, like ...

  • Zelda bothers me because I distinctly remember Shigeru Miyamoto, after Zelda 3, stating flatly that the Legend of Zelda games have nothing to do with one another and that each game is a re imagining of the series.  Flash forward like 15 years and suddenly gamers are trying to piece together a story with mutliple time lines and all this other crap, but none of it is real. Only recently have ...

  • Q from Street Fighter 3, definitely. One of the best things about good fighting games is that they tell story with the characters movements. You can say "oh.. this character has this other characters special move" and that, mysteriously, communicates a little bit of the story. Q's movements and winning quotes were so strange that you really wanted to know more about his character.  I'll second the Gman. When I first ...

  • I don't really understand wanting to limit the number of discs. Well, I guess I can for financial reasons. But other than that, if a game requires you to change discs.. it really doesn't matter how many at that point, I don't think.

Not too much information so as to overexpose the product and then when they release a date it's only a few months a way. • I hate a lot of popular games just on account of their being awful and I honestly cannot understand why people like them. And I'm a really open minded guy. I mean, I can run down point for point instance by instance all of the reasons why a popular game is not well constructed and people are like "yeah, all of that is true... but it's perfect anyways."  Many of the new Legend ...

  • The thing about health kits is that it allows a WHOLE other element of gameplay to be introduced which, in my opinion, is much more fun and adds huge amounts to the game.  For instance, games that require power ups to heal means you have to explore to find them/ save up money to buy them. The element of exploring adds another motivation to the gameplay and the element of having ...

Movie ratings dont' work in an "allowed in" format. There's no checklist. they rate the content as  hole. That's why directors can frequently get softer ratings by trimming the amount of screen time an act gets or bartering with other content for the content they want to save. ("I'll give up two nudity shots for a stab in hte eyeball" etc...)
