I'm disappointed with everyone in this thread who casually accept someone lying to them. Like that's how interactions between people should happen. It's not acceptable and you should not accept it from anyone. I don't care if they have Marketing on their business card. Call them on their bullshit. jesus, have a little self respect.
I don't see why it's accepting a lie, when most people that aren't naive just go in assuming it. But your point about that's not how interactions between people should happen is right. But they aren't people. They are a company, and representatives of a company. They are doing a job. Their job is to make their product look like a necessity in your life. To look perfect. You're pissed at us for knowing how Marketing works and being cynical about it, instead of being pissed at yourself for assuming a business is your buddy and you can trust them. You're a paycheck to them, nothing more.
They always show "representative" videos, because when they don't, things go wrong and the internet mocks them. Instead of trusting what a corporation tells you about their product, you should go in with a healthy dose of skepticism. It's called being a savvy consumer. McDonald's hamburgers in commercials aren't edible either. They use toxic glues and glazes to make it look delicious, but when you order a Big Mac, it looks like shit. You're calling us all sheep for assuming a company is lying to us and understanding how marketing works. Maybe you're the sheep for assuming that companies wouldn't do whatever it takes to present their product in the best light.

As for me liking Sony. Yes Sure but I like Sony because they are way more "real" than Microsoft and Nintnedo are. Sony is actually listening to people and most of these guys are actually gamer despite wanting to make money just like every other company which is of course not a big deal. Nintendo is at least not really lying but just clueless which is kind of charming. Sad but charming. The stuff Microsoft is doing right now is just disgusting.
