1. Portal 2
What can I say that hasn't already been said about this game. Story, fantastic. Voice acting, outstanding. Gameplay, challenging and rewarding. Easily my favorite game this year.
2. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
Yes, this one is very similar to it's predecessor, but I don't care. This game is fun, tells a great story, and looks amazing. I look forward to the next adventure that Nathan Drake takes me on.
3. Batman: Arkham City
This game is essential a Batman sim. It does a great job making you feel like Batman. The story is actually pretty good too. I liked Arkham Asylum a little better, but there's no doubt that this game is fantastic.
4. inFamous 2
This game was fun and told a pretty decent story. I liked the new fire/ice powers that they added. The morality system could have been done a little better, but I still had fun playing as Cole.
5. Super Mario 3D Land
It's a fantastic Mario game. Tight gameplay with inventive level design. No surprise that it's a good game.
6. Mortal Kombat
I'm not a fighting game junkie or anything, but I really enjoyed my time with MK. The story mode was actually quite good, probably the best ever in a fighting game. Fatalities were gory and the X-ray moves were satisfyingly brutal. Great fun!
Poor story and dick jokes aside, this game was just really fun. The whip/kick mechanics and "killing with skill" were excellent. I'm usually not a huge fan of FPS, but this one really kept my interest. Whip, Kick, Boom!
8. NBA Jam: On Fire Edition
I really like the Road Trip mode that they added to this version. They add cool situations and keep the standard two vs two game play from getting stale. Tons of unlockables ensure that I'll be playing this well into next year.
9. Mario Kart 7
I never really got into a Mario Kart game since the SNES version, but this one really held my attention for some reason. Blue shells are still really annoying. That's pretty much become a staple of the series, but the new additions were cool. I liked the hang gliding and some of the new power ups were fun. All in all, very solid.
10. Rayman Origins
The reason Rayman: Origins is so low on this list is because it's the game I've put the least time into. I got this for Christmas and just haven't been able to sink into it as much as I'd like for me to rate it higher. I am really enjoying it though and can say that it is one of my favorite games this year.
