Game of the Year 2009.

This has been a very though decision, but I think my choice's stand. Although some of you may think "Hey where's *blah blah*!?" The fact some games aren't there is due to the fact I may have played them briefly or maybe not at all, so I am unable to comment about such things.

List items

  • Honestly I haven't played a whole lot of this game, due to around the time it was released so was a lot of other games. Despite my lack of knowledge with this game, from what I have played has been fun, addicting, bloody and damn right outrageous. Thank you Bioware for this epic RPG.

  • The epic sequel to the Assassin's Creed saga. This time we follow a new Assassin, Ezio Auditore, on his story of revenge, but through this quest for revenge he uncovers something bigger than he could possibly imagine. Onto the game play, there has been a vast amount of updates since the original one. The original mission scheme has been scraped, so repetition in the story is a no go. Customisation choices leaves you with a bunch of different weapons and unlockable items. The amount of new content that differs from the original will not leave you unsatisfied.

  • This was my most anticipated game of 2009. Even though some of the game didn't meet my expectations, it's still a fantastic game. The graphics are better than any other game that has been released this year. I must admit playing this game solo can bring the game's value down, due to the bad AI of Sheva. But with a good friend this game can rock your world. Due to the amount of treasure and weapons you can purchase, the replay value of this game is immense. The mercenaries mode (Now with Co-op) also can give you extra hours of fun, and next year new DLC is available I'm still loving this game.

  • Possibly the worlds most anticipated game of 2009, although I am completely satisfied with this game. I don't feel that it deserves all the attention that it has received. Maybe the best Console Multi-Player game of 2009, but this is not the reason I've given Modern Warfare 2 my 4th spot. I've awarded Modern Warfare with my 4th position because the fact it has 3 parts to the game. The Single Player, Multi-player and the Co-op element. I enjoyed all of these aspects of the game, and I'm happy to play the game any time. But for the future I think the Call of Duty series should be put to rest.

  • Although this game was not released this year, the incredible amount of service and updates for players has been fantastic! Finally finishing updating all classes. It's been a great year for Team Fortress 2 and Valve has put a lot of effort into this game!

    Best Multi-player Game of 2009.

  • The Original 'Left 4 Dead' took quite a while to make, a year down the line and a second title has been released. I found myself as many others must've thought, "Oh yeah, same game with some new stuff." When I actually got to play this game I was blown away by how much it has changed, first off the Graphics have been improved greatly, There is a ton of different weapons and items you can now use, as well as new special infected, new scenarios and game modes. It's clear that Valve wasted no time creating this game.

  • I originally purchased this game after seeing the Quick-Look that Giant Bomb had put up. I was amazed by how good an MMORPG could look and how fresh the game appeared. Although this game is very similar to World of Warcraft, after seeing the Aion: Vision trailer I have got high hopes for the future of this game.

    Best MMORPG of 2009.

  • I was given Braid from a good friend of mine via. Steam Gifts. In the steam sale it was only around £1.50.

This game really makes you think, and is incredibly unique and great fun.

  • Although I've had a bad experience with this game (My Xbox 360 broke and ate the disk.) When I got around to actually playing this game, I was totally satisfied. Bungie have improved by far on storytelling and making memorable Characters. The campaign mode was an nice addition the the Halo saga, and I was happy for my purchase (Apart from the disk being scratched to hell.) The new multi-player is fun, but can get boring quickly. But one of the greatest aspects of this game, is the Musical Score. The team have done an excellent job putting the music to the greatest of moments. I'm looking forward to what Halo: Reach has in store for us.

  • Killzone 2 is a definite title to have if you are a PS3 owner, the best first person action (on PS3) and not a bad story. Although the characters could be related to, I couldn't help but hate Rico, due to his tough guy attitude and just being a general asshole. The game would be a lot better without him.
