Dan and Jason coming aboard simultaneously in 2014 was just what GB needed to move forward from losing Ryan. No one could ever replace Ryan, but Dan was just enough of a wildcard to provide the chaotic good spark that had dimmed a bit. Best of luck to Dan, and I look forward to seeing all the "good shit" that he will provide for his new employer. Just watch the pronouns, pal...
On a side note, I get that Abby can't connect with the boy in Captain Spirit (though as a former little boy, I did; little boys are equal parts weird and whiny in most cases) and the subject matter with the broken, abusive dad wasn't fun (I had a hard time with it just because I'm a dad to a 9 year old and it's pretty much a nightmare scenario that I don't like confronting), it wasn't supposed to be either. It was supposed to make you connect with this kid who is trying to be a kid in a pretty shitty environment.
It's as "heady" stuff as anything in the LiS universe and I'm glad to see they made sure it counted here.
Vinny and Alex’s “Ryan streams” are some of the best things done in remembrance of Ryan, and you can tell it’s cathartic for them as well. Rest easy, Taswell.
If you’d like to read something funny, I highly recommend Space Opera by Catherynne Valente. Imagine if Eurovision determined the fate of planets in the solar system and you get the idea.
Far Cry has long been a series I've bought once it hits $29.99 or below. I think that might be why I'm a little more apt to feel like I've gotten my money's worth from them. Looks like I'll be taking the same approach with Far Cry 5, as Jeff's review doesn't seem to endorse it as a $60 game. Thanks Jeff!
