@kevlar101: Are you trying to write a review from your profile or directly on the game's page?

Both. It does this on both the games page and my profile.

@kevlar101: Hmm, not sure on the latter part, it could be a bug. But the unlocking normally happens after 24 hours since your last post, so I'd wait a few more hours and try again. If it's still not letting you post a review in five hours, let me know and I can look into it.

Soooo...... it still won't let me write reviews. When I click "Write a review", It just keeps redirecting me back to the same page.

Yup, stuff has happened since 2006 alright!

I must admit though, I do occasionally check up on what Tool are up to, only to be disappointed that I can't really find anything substantial.

While I think 10,000 Days had some great material on it and is a very good album overall, I don't think it comes close to Lateralus, which is among my most favourite albums, easily. I kinda feel that they managed to bottle lightning with that release though. That's not to say I think it was a fluke in any sense, but I'd be surprised if they ever manage to top that.

I like some of their older stuff, but I've always had very proggy leanings, so Lateralus and 10,000 Days just end up speaking to me more as a result.

You should stop holding your breath for a new album, though.

I was trying to represent how much time has passed, not necessarily how much has happened.

And I will keep holding my breath. In an interview with Maynard himself, he specifically said that they have already recorded most of the album. It's just a matter of finishing and releasing. Mostly the latter.

This is a compiled, comparative, unordered list designed to kind of gauge a mental image of just how long it has been since the successful Alternative Metal/Progressive Metal band Tool released their most "recent" album 10,000 Days......on May 2nd of 2006. They say that they have been working on their first new album in almost a decade.....but just how much really has happened since then?

  • Since the release of 10,000 Days, Disney/Pixar films such as Cars, the latter 3 Pirates of the Caribbean films, and Ratatouille all hit the theaters.
  • 10,000 Days released about 6 months BEFORE the PlayStation 3 was released for the very first time (on November 17th, 2006 in the U.S.). And now that the new consoles have arrived, this means that the majority of the 7th-gen and the ENTIRE PlayStation 3 lifespan have passed by since the last Tool album.
  • Since the release of the last album, the U.S. has seen the second half of one presidents term, and the one and a half terms of another.
  • Twitter is launched on July 15th, 2006.
  • Pluto was declared "not a planet" on August 24th of the same year.
  • In October, North Korea conducts it's first ever nuclear test.
  • In November of 2006, former President of Iraq Saddam Hussein is sentenced to death by hanging.
  • In February of 2007, World stock markets plummet after China and Europe release less-than-expected growth reports.
  • In July of 2007, The final book in J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is released and sells over 11 million copies in the first 24 hours, becoming the fastest selling book in history.
  • In November, The Writers Guild of America goes on a strike that lasts until February 12, 2008.
  • In January of 2008, the price of petroleum hits $100 per barrel for the first time. Also, stock markets around the world plunge amid growing fears of a U.S. recession, fueled by the 2007 subprime mortgage crisis.
  • On June 22nd, George Carlin dies of heart failure at Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California.
  • In October of 2008, Global financial crisis: U.S. President George W. Bush signs the revised Emergency Economic Stabilization Act into law, creating a 700 billion dollar Treasury fund to purchase failing bank assets.
  • In November, Barack Obama is elected the 44th President of the United States, and becomes the first African-American President-elect.
  • April 24th, 2009, swine flu outbreak: The World Health Organization expresses concern at the spread of influenza from Mexico and the United States to other countries. International cases and resulting deaths are confirmed.
  • In June, the outbreak of the H1N1 influenza strain, commonly referred to as "swine flu", is deemed a global pandemic, becoming the first condition since the Hong Kong flu of 1967–1968 to receive this designation. Also in June, the death of American entertainer Michael Jackson triggers an outpouring of worldwide grief. Online, reactions to the event cripple several major websites and services, as the abundance of people accessing the web addresses pushes internet traffic to potentially unprecedented and historic levels.
  • April 20th, 2010, The Deepwater Horizon oil platform explodes in the Gulf of Mexico, killing 11 workers. The resulting Horizon oil spill, one of the largest in history, spreads for several months, damaging the waters and the United States coastline, and prompting international debate and doubt about the practice and procedures of offshore drilling.
  • In August, the World Health Organization declares the H1N1 influenza pandemic over, saying worldwide flu activity has returned to typical seasonal patterns.
  • In May of 2010, U.S. President Barack Obama announces that Osama bin Laden, the founder and leader of the militant group Al-Qaeda, has been killed on May 2, 2011 during an American military operation in Pakistan.
  • In July, South Sudan secedes from Sudan, per the result of the independence referendum held in January.
  • In August, stock exchanges worldwide suffer heavy losses due to the fears of contagion of the European sovereign debt crisis and the credit rating downgraded as a result of the debt-ceiling crisis of the United States.
  • October 31st, 2011, the date selected by the UN as the symbolic date when global population reaches seven billion.
  • In December, the United States formally declares an end to the Iraq War. While this ends the insurgency, it begins another.
  • In July of 2012, CERN announces the discovery of a new particle with properties consistent with the Higgs boson after experiments at the Large Hadron Collider.
  • In October, Hurricane Sandy kills at least 209 people in the Caribbean, Bahamas, United States and Canada. Considerable storm surge damage causes major disruption to the eastern seaboard of the United States.
  • In February of 2013, North Korea conducts its third underground nuclear test, prompting widespread condemnation and tightened economic sanctions from the international community. Also, A meteor explodes over the Russian city of Chelyabinsk, injuring 1,491 people and damaging over 4,300 buildings. It is the most powerful meteor to strike Earth's atmosphere in over a century. The incident, along with a coincidental flyby of a larger asteroid, prompts international concern regarding the vulnerability of the planet to meteor strikes. Additionally, Benedict XVI resigns as pope, becoming the first to do so since Gregory XII in 1415, and the first to do so voluntarily since Celestine V in 1294.
  • In March, Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Argentina is elected the 266th pope, whereupon he takes the name Francis and becomes the first Jesuit pope, the first pope from the Americas, and the first pope from the Southern Hemisphere.
  • In June, American Edward Snowden discloses operations engaged in by a U.S. government mass surveillance program to news publications and flees the country, later being granted temporary asylum in Russia.
  • In February of 2014, The Ukrainian parliament votes to remove President Viktor Yanukovych from office, replacing him with Oleksandr Turchynov, after days of civil unrest left around 100 people dead in Kiev.
  • In March, Russia formally annexes Crimea after President Vladimir Putin signed a bill finalizing the annexation process.

Yeah. I spent a lot of time with this list.

What have Tool been doing for the past 8 damn years? Well, Maynard has been up to...well, stuff....

No Caption Provided

.....yeah. Stuff.

Well....what are your thoughts on the almost-decade that Tool has been (for the most part) inactive? What is your opinion on their previous material, 10,000 Days? Why do you think Maynard pretty much doesn't acknowledge Tool anymore? What the hell have the OTHER Tool's been doing for the last 8 years? And do you think Tool's next album will totally be worth the wait? I sure do.

I am 15 and I happen to really like the LEGO video games. In fact, I am currently playing LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7. I also have LEGO Batman 2 in my backlog.

What can I say? I find them pleasant and innocent, and a nice occasional change of pace from the kinds of games that I usually play.

Order of the Phoenix, with Deathly Hallows and Goblet of Fire close behind. They're all good, in reality. Azkaban or Order of the Phoenix are probably my favorite of the films, though.

My man!

@rorie: Uhmmm.....it is still not letting me write a review? It has been about 20 hours since I last tried to, and it still won't let me.

And...also, I wonder about what you said. If you say that it is blocking me from making a review because I am at my daily post limit, then why was I still able to post this topic and the two replies in the same day? And then it still won't let me write one anyway. Not trying to be an ass or anything, really, i'm just wondering...
