I love the first two games, and loved the reboot and Enemy Within DLC. X-COM 2 has some great moments but overall was a little disappointing. The new DLC looks amazing, but still pretty burned by the core games bugs and performance issues. I would love to see the team hit the first game with OpenXcom applied, though it might be a bit dated for most people.
All that aside, great content being pumped out at the moment...even if some of it is about games I don't really like.
I gotta say that Toejam & Earl 2 is actually just as good as the first...if not better in some regards. It looks and sounds much better, the levels can be fun to exlore and it has some interesting enemies.
I could see how someone would be disappointed if they were expecting exactly the same as the first game, but definitely thing Jeff is a little harsh on it.
Sorry...but Toejam& Earl 2: Panic on Funkatron is a great game. I think it's actually better than the first, even if it is completely different. (1:11:20)
This is a horrendously dull game, unfortunately. I was hoping for something a little better in all honesty.
Lots of boring levels that are all terribly short, along with really easy/dumb enemies and boss fights. As Alex says, "it's not horrible"...but it is fairly sub par.
Compare this to the effort that went into the Streets of Rage Remake, there is no contest.
I was really enjoying Stardew Valley up until I realised that there were time restrictions, or that certain people were in certain places at certain times, making it a pain in the ass to complete some objectives. I think it's a great game and a hell of a debut, but it's just not for me. I like to potter around in my own time and have freedom to do what I want, though I understand removing the limitations would probably affect the game negatively and leave you without any real reason to complete the objectives.
I appreciate you adding AM2R to the list. All too often passion projects like this are regarded as not proper games, or not worthy of an award, but games like this and the Streets of Rage Remake show that some regular people might actually understand the IP's a lot better than the people that own them.
