Less than the sum of its parts. 0

I really wanted to love this game. The Sin City art style, the over-the-top violence, the chainsaw attached to hero Jack's arm. It came close, but it eventually felt samey, even boring. The first few levels of MadWorld are brilliant. Not because they're especially better than the later ones (there are actually far more interesting levels later on), but because it's still new and interesting at that point. Slamming enemies onto spike walls, ramming signposts through their heads, and hurling them i...

The rare single-player game with massive replay value 0

After beating this game for the first time, I debated whether or not to write a review at the time. The entire northeast corner of my map had gone unchecked, and my gamerscore sat at around 350, most of which was from story missions. After taking a 2 week break (wrought with a desire to continue my wasteland adventures), I decided I'd go back in and leave as few stones unturned as possible. Now about 4-5 hours into my second play through, I am confident in saying that Fallout 3 is pretty awesome...

Fright and Fight, all done right 0

Dead Space is a great game. I regret that its strong M rating and relative lack of publicity might let it go on forgotten like other great single-player adventures, like Beyond Good & Evil or The Darkness. I hope the great reviews keep it fresh in peoples' minds. I want to see more of this universe.Anyway, let's get to it. The storyline of Dead Space has been seen before. It's essentially the same as Alien. This is a good thing. If Aliens is getting a game, Alien should have a game to repres...

It's fun to blow things up. 3

There's a difference between a very fun game and a very good game. A very fun game will offer almost endless kicks from beginning to end. A very good game will provide the same value as a very fun game while also offering few technical problems, an interesting storyline, and perhaps a really good multiplayer option. Well, at least Mercenaries 2: World in Flames has a really good co-op mode. This game is pure testosterone-fueled fun. If you like explosions, hijacking helicopters in midair, and pol...

Just short of perfection 0

Castle Crashers is a huge bargain. The amount of content in it could easily make it a budget retail title for at least $20. Hell, it even approaches the quality of some $50-60 titles. $15 is a steal for this fantastic game. The gameplay is immensely addictive, offering a nostalgic nod to classics like Battletoads, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the Simpsons arcade game, while simultaneously providing far more depth than any of its influences. Leveling up is very rewarding, offering new combos...

One of the Best Games of the Year 0

As primarily a console gamer, Battlefield: Bad Company represents everything I wish the Battlefield series could've been. Almost everything good (except maybe the ability to go prone) is carried over from Battlefield 2, and everything new works incredibly well. The controls may seem strange at first, but once you get used to them, it's not hard to see them becoming the new standard for console shooter. The graphics are top-notch, in my opinion some of the best the 360 has to offer. The new Gold ...

Buy this game. 0

Allow me to explain why every gamer should buy this game:1. It's beautiful. The art and music in Braid is some of the best I've seen in a while. The watercolor graphics and folksy tunes allow the world to really suck you in.2. It's beautiful! The gameplay and puzzles give surprisingly depth to what first seems like a derivative platformer (look for several Mario nods, especially in the first level). The different ways in which time can be manipulated in each level offers fresh challenges every s...
