It's an amazing time to be alive.

Skyrim, Assassin's Creed, and Saints Row 3 are all amazing!
I played Skyrim from Friday to Monday, just enough time to do the Dark Brotherhood questline. It's pretty damn amazing and makes this Civil War seem like small potatoes.
On Tuesday I played 5 hours of the AC:R muliplayer. I've said a dozen times that it's easily the best mulitplayer of any game ever, and remains to be true with AC:R. I'm level 15 am just starting to get at the good abilities, but I still can't describe the amazing amount of fun and satisfaction I get from it.

Today I played 4 hours of Saints Row 3 and you should really play saints row. It's really funny, driving is great, shooting is great, the adult swim radio station is hosted by John from Delocated. Only bad thing is how is the song "Jacket" not on  the adult swim station. Life is wonderful, best year in games, pardon me while I go back to playing them.

I wish I had a week with nothing to do so I could just sit on my goddamn ass and play Skyrim 72 hours straight. I've played 22ish hours and feel like I've barely touched the surface.

I sit and play 4 hours of miscellaneous quests in Skyrim then get pissed at myself that I am ignoring the main story quest line. The game is such a time-sink, it's incredible.

I think every day is an amazing time to be alive.

@Gizmo: I play Skyrim at night and think to myself "meh, just a couple of hours before I go to bed" .. 8 hours later I'm shutting down the PC and going to work. And I am on like qust 5 of the main storyline, I think. Not that it's pissing me off, I love the other content a lot.

While those are all quality games, the fact that they are all sequels of sequels is a little depressing, I liked it better when I didn't have to play the same franchises for six years. Seems like these days it is getting really hard for a developer to nail a game on the first try, thus sequels are needed to recoup the investment.

Remember those terrible Mario sequels that came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System; Super Mario Bros. 1, 2 and 3. How dare they.

@kingzetta: I was joking. Sequels have been around as long as video games.

It would be an even better time if jobs were available to fund my love for games. I am now a broke college student.

I really wish I had the time to play these games. The only time I have been super busy in a long time is when the flood of games hit!

It's not that hard bro!

Look on Craigslist under jobs. Stay away from the creepy ones though... or don't, I don't judge.

I have neither the money nor the time to play all of the games I want (except for when Zelda finally comes out), but I definitely agree that it's an amazing time to be alive.

Naw, I reactivated my Gamefly subscription. That'll do for now.

Yes it is. It may have been a year full of sequels and Iterative design but sequels are great. They provided a refined game compared to the first game in a series. Think Assassins creed 1 vs Assassins creed 2/brotherhood-great sequels. Uncharted 1's mechanics vs Uncharted 2(I say mechanics because oddly enough I loved uncharted 1's shiny-kind off mechanical and rustic look compared to uncharted 2)

Everyday is a good day to be alive, otherwise your dead.
