Korolev: Best of 2010

  • Almost more than a year later, I find myself thinking about the ME universe more than any other game universe

  • Really just a brilliant, brilliant game. I didn't suffer from the bugs. Almost my game of the year.

  • Really, really liked the character designs. Game's got heart. Also, great controls. And come on, what game allows you to fight a fetus? And not just a fetus, but an evil fetus in a robot suit wearing a tailored suit? With a top hat?

  • I love chipping away at blocks. Especially virtual blocks. Seriously, it's one hell of an addictive game. I played nothing but this game for a solid month.

  • I am STILL playing the Multiplayer at least twice a week. It moves at exactly the right pace, and it's just the perfect blend between tactical and twitch gameplay. Not perfectly balanced, but have you SEEN how big the maps are!? It's crazy!

  • A really great game, even for a non-RTS player like myself. It's not in the top 5 simply because the story wasn't as good as the first one - I found a lot of the characters to be even more cheesy, and they played up the red-neck angle too much. But mechanically, it's awesome. Just look at the games coming out of the GSL.

  • Deep, deep, deeeeeep game that lasts forever. Swim in it until you drown and your bloated corpse washes ashore for all to marvel at. Or until you get fired from your job because you played it too much. Again, would be higher if the multiplayer didn't require so much dedication and time commitment.

  • Okay, the shooting mechanics weren't so great. And the navigation was a terror to work with. But it had atmosphere, it had a writing style and a story telling style that I had never personally experienced before. Almost made up for the dead-eyed serial killer stare of EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER IN THE GAME.

  • Really loved this game for the first 10 or so hours. I didn't enjoy it as much after that, but it's still a crazy game with crazy mechanics. It would be higher in the list if it didn't contain so many blatant ethnic stereotypes.

  • It was more Dragon Age, which I was fine with. The characters were nowhere NEAR as good as the characters from the first game, but I dug the new abilities, the new locations, and the twist in the story.
