Getting rid of my games

I need to get rid of my games. I have a great collection, but I love my wife more than games. Video games are just stiff and our relationship is greater than any video game, ever. Where can I get the most money for them? I'm thinking Best Buy, but if you have any ideas let me know.

eBay and if you're on any trading/selling sites there as well.

Posted by JJWeatherman

Yeah, eBay if you're willing to go through the trouble. Otherwise, Best Buy or GameStop would be easiest. Amazon lets you trade games, too, but you'd still be mailing them (I assume...).

I'm selling all my clutter on eBay too, seem to get a good price. Dear god don't sell any Mass Effect though! : )

Why get rid of them, everybody needs a hobby fool!

Probably for financial reasons. If wifey is asking him to choose between video games or her, then OP needs to grow a fucking backbone.

You sound like a drone, enjoy clinging to your wife.

Well rember that Video Games will always love you..

Hide the games in your boat.

He didn't ask for your trite opinion, just advice on the best prices.

Going on a videogame-based forum and asking people what is the best deal for selling videogames is like burning a Bible at a church.

I'd suggest you compromise with your wife and box them up and store them in your garage and you can play them a few years from now. However if you really have to sell them I'd suggest Ebay, retail stores will offer you next to nothing for your games.

You love your wife enough to let her talk you into selling all your video games? With almost a thousand posts and a paid subscription on a videogame forum? You're either playing the wrong games or pussywhipped. Or trolling. I'm gonna go with trolling.

Hah.

This is why I love not being married. Compromise is such a dirty word.

Besides what kind of woman makes her guy give up something he enjoys?

If you don't want to go through the trouble of selling them yourself on eBay or whatever, Amazon has the best trade-in prices from my experience. It's still not going to be a great return, and it's in the form of credit, not cash, but they're better than Gamestop or Best Buy and they make the process pretty painless (print pre-paid shipping label, package game, drop it off).

I'll give you £10 for them all

...are...are you seriously that stupid? Fuck...here i go.

  • If your wife has a problem with you gaming, its probably because you play too much, cut back, but still play.
  • Why do you need to get rid of your game collection? Why doesn't she get rid of her jewelry/shoe collection?
  • It can, and probably will end in divorce, why give up your collection if you're just going to end up resenting that woman?
  • If she's asking you to give up, possibly your most favorite hobby, just so you can prove to her that you love her, you have no business being with her.
  • Finally, dude, how pussy whipped can you possibly get?

Not sure if this is a troll attempt or not, but just for the sake of it...

Like others have said, Ebay will get you the most money (potentially a lot more money depending on what you have). If all you're looking to sell are more modern games then Gamestop/Bestbuy etc. will be the easiest option but definitely won't get you the most money.

Man, you are dumb.

Loooooot's of assuming stuff here. Dear god people, he might be selling them for financial reasons, keeping his marriage and life going. He didn't say he would quit gaming, just sell the collection "which probably collects dust anyway". There is a lot of reasons to sell stuff you like. And the place to do it is probably Ebay.

Though if people are correct, and she put up the dreaded "me or games" ultimatum... Dump the bitch.

Posted by crusader8463

Get on Ebay and local trading sites like kijiji.ca and post them. Kijiji is your best bet, as they don't take a cut of the profit, and you deal directly with the customers.

Fair play to you mate, a lot of people would have told her where to go.

ebay, or craigslist. put an ad there meet somebody and sell the game.

Your'e not really very good at similes. Those two things are nothing alike.

Jesus guys the dude clearly loves her a lot more than video games. I know it's hard to believe but it is possible. Ebay the shit out of them. We don't even know the details about what kind of impact his gaming has on their relationship.

Posted by LUMIN4RY

Sounds like you just don't enjoy gaming. Sad...

Posted by Subject2Change

I'd suggest you sell it all on Craigslist if you live in an area that has enough of a population with an interest. You'll get more cash then from trade ins.

However if this isn't a financial reason, I personally wouldn't do it. If you can't control how much you game and it's detremental to your relationship then I could understand. However everyone needs a hobby whether it's riding a bike, fishing or playing video games everyone needs an escape. However ignore most of the people on these boards, you are getting advice from teenagers typically who have yet to kiss a girl or actually even talk to a girl.

She doesn't want you to play games?

Posted by RaikohBlade

Getting rid of all your games isn't going to solve your problems. Trust me, if life problems could be solved by giving up video games, I would have done so long ago.
