Ryan Dunn and G4, or why I gave up

I quit. This has pushed me past the point of no return. I cannot believe that G4 is celebrating the life of Ryan Dunn with a tribute on Attack of the Show. The man killed himself and someone else while drunk driving. They should probably try and forget he ever existed; but no, they are making a tribute to him.

Remember Adolf Hitler? Do you remember what he did? You’re probably thinking that douche killed a lot of innocent Jews, and tried to take over the world. Which is true; but he also but he also turned a 30% unemployment rate around and saved the German economy. Most people don’t remember him for saving the economy; they remember the awful person he really was.

We can’t let Hollywood tell us that they are more important than the common man. It’s total crap that they can get away with DUIs, drug possession, charges, and all manner of other crimes that other people cannot. Maybe if one of Ryan Dunn’s several DUI charges had been more than a slap on the wrist, maybe the “star” would still be alive and the person he killed too.

Hollywood calls out corporations as being evil entities, but that’s the pot calling the kettle black. MGM employees got away with rape and murder. It is insane ho much power they have. They flaunt it. They manipulate the laws to ensure they will be released and will continue to make copious mounts of money.

If you killed someone because you were drunk driving like a fool, how would you be remembered? Would you be remembered fondly, or as an idiot? Let’s not celebrate his life. Let’s forget he ever existed. When someone asks who is Ryan Dunn, you can say, “a dolt who killed himself and another while drunk driving.”

You can argue Ryan Dunn was a great man, but great men don’t drive drunk.

Now that we see how Ryan Dunn died, we know who ‘s the real Jackass.

Someone talking or texting on a phone in a car can kill a whole family just as fast as a drunk driver. How about that dude that dropped his cigarette? Reached down to get it and bam. Kids are fighting in the backseat, you turn around and bam.

I'm not making excuses, but bad shit happens. If he would have lived, he would have to face criminal charges. The justice system would have had the last say.

Well said. OFC drunk driving is insane. and sadly it kills many peaople each year. But are they all bad(those who drink and drive) ? No, shit happens, and if it was your family, "shit happens" never, NEVER cut it. BUT! it hapens. sadly.

But what really got me starting on spesific topic?

Man, what an attention-seeking little dweeb.

I've seen this sort of thing before. Some celebrity dies, people generally mourn them and remember them for what they did and who they are, and then some stupid fucking dick-holder pipes up with shit like "how come you sheeple are only remembering the good aspects of this person? I guess I'm the only person in the world with enough solidarity to actually admit that I didn't like them. In fact, I happened to think that they were a complete ass hole."  You think you're being awesome and rad by saying this shit, but you're not. You're probably the type of person who says things like "unlike most people, I say what's on my mind. I don't sugarcoat things, motherfucker" and everyone else is too polite to reply with "yeah, the rest of us restrain ourselves because we aren't rude fucking cunts." Eat a dick, you fucking lemon hunter.

I'll keep in mind that drunk driving is equivalent to genocide next time I see somebody drive home from the bar.

I done some drunk driving in my time and I'd do it again and again. That's why I'm not owning a car anymore. I'm not to be trusted with a car. Nothing ever happend though. Well - almost nothing. Flipped a car into a forrest once on an icy country road at 100 kph (well, I probably shaved-off 50 kph with controlled braking before going flying), I got away with a scratch to my left ear from glass shrapnel. A hazelnut bush had the kindness to stop my fall gently. I climbed out of the wreck unharmed (I wasn't drunk, just a little stoned). Did some more driving, but I couldn't live with the odds of either me or another fucking up.

My mind's often adrift; somewhat aloof from the here and now. Hence I gave up on cars. Also - they're god-damn expensive and I fucking hate to earn cash, so that's nice too. Luckily I live in the country with best and safest and most reliable public transportation system in the world. If I need to go places, it's no problem. Also - bicycles are a great way to get around and do some cardio. Walking's pretty sweet too, if you got the time (I do!). Farthest I gone was from up in here (Switzerland) to the Côté d'Azure in southern France. The world is a pretty damn small place really, if you put it to the test. At least as long as there's roads and open borders.

P.S. Way to be a self-righteous prick!

@l4wd0g Comparing a television star who made a really big mistake and drove drunk to the man responsible for the deaths of nearly 40 MILLION soldiers and civilians alike, is absolutely disgusting. l4wd0g, I'm impressed. I didn't think I could dislike you any more than I did after you made that topic spewing hatred towards homosexuals, but bravo. You outdid yourself here. I would be remembered fondly, and then people would be angry about that one stupid thing I did. It's pretty fucking ridiculous to hate somebody for making a mistake.

It's always terrible to hear news about someone dying before their time.  That being said, I'm sorry for his family and friends for their loss, but that's as far as I'll go.   The guy was driving drunk and died so that makes him the sweet innocent victim, but say he lived?  Then the media would have crucified his ass.  It's only bc he died that makes him the hero.  I'm not sure if this was his first time driving drunk, if it was then yeah I'd feel bad for him, but if it wasn't then well...Not saying he's evil, not saying he deserved it, just saying he did it to himself (and the other guy, who in my opinion is the real victim) My thoughts are with his family and friends.

On the point of him killing his passenger. I guarantee they were both drunk of their asses, and it could have been either one of them to end up driving. The passenger is no victim and is just as much at fault as Ryan Dunn was.

And comparing him to Hitler. Dude its a DUI, he didn't rape anybody or kill  in cold blood. He made a mistake, people do that a lot while intoxicated.

Dunn shouldn't be forgotten, but he also shouldn't be treated like someone who was out there saving the world one problem at a time. People do put famous individuals on pedestals they don't deserve to be on, and then they mourn these individuals like they were part of the family. Pathetic. Sure, send a prayer or well wishes or whatever the fuck you do to give out positive energy, but don't make out this death to be more than what happens every day, especially since 1)it was his own fault, 2)he took someone out with him who had no direct influence on the driving, and 3)fuck overpaid "actors" and in general all famous people. I bet he wasn't the only one who died that day. Jesus.

But using Hitler as help out your cause was pretty lame, Milhouse. His bad definitely outweighed his good deeds. Dunn was just a guy who got famous by being a silly fool.

I don't think Dunn should be treated like a hero or praised. But his family have a right to mourn. Yes, he did get someone else killed, and yes, that is horrible. But intentions matter. Hitler wanted to exterminate vast segments of Europe's population. That's why he was evil. Dunn was simply stupid. That doesn't make him evil. It makes him careless, and kind of a jerk, but not evil.

I can't say I ever cared about Jackass or Ryan Dunn. Hell, until he died, I didn't even know who he was. But his death (and the death of his friend) is sad for their respective families. What has happened, has happened.

I agree, Dunn's life should not be "celebrated", since he got himself killed and his completely selfish and careless actions have hurt others. Accident or not, you don't drink and drive. It's not a mistake that you can just say "oops" about. It's not a mistake everyone makes - it's a selfish, stupid thing to do. But Dunn paid the price for that already.

Let his family and friends mourn him. If his fans miss him, let them mourn him too. I personally can't say I cared much about Mr. Dunn - thousands upon thousands of people die around the world every single day, and I can't care or mourn for all of them. Dunn's no exception to that rule - his death was just one of many, many deaths on that day. But I understand that his family would be sad that he died. So let them mourn. It's already a bad situation. No need to add fire to it.

sure hes a celebrity and you may not think that his death is important because you dont know him too well or the fact he died from a car accident but there are still people that mourn for his death.  i mean, why arent they allowed to celebrate his death?  i havent seen a single tribute towards his life on tv so i dont get why youre complaining.  and

why are you complaining him to Hitler?  i always recognize him as a smart man but i also recognize that he killed millions of people for no justifiable reason.  sure Ryan Dunn may not have been perfect and drunk driving was the result of his death but he didnt kill millions of innocent people in the process

This. well said. reasson that i post and quote this much, is that i lost a dear frind myself drunk driving. Awsome father, really good life. Just 1 mistake. People arn't evil just cause they drunk drive. the fact that mr dunn killed a fellow friend, is, ofcourse not "good". But as said before. His friends, you really think they diden't know? anyway. Let people mourn. 2 PEOPLE died. Drunk driving? dosen't matter, they died. Rest in peace.

My fiance and I had a discussion of this very nature shortly after his death.

Countless people die on a daily basis. While those lives are no or more less valuable, many of their deaths are more tragic. His passing should be mourned with thoughts and prayers sent out to his family and loved ones, but no one should feel pity for him as he made the choice to get behind the wheel under the influence.

Kind of off topic, but mildly relevant. This kind of reminds me when Bruno Mars went to jail in Las Vegas for possession of cocaine, and all the media outlets were more concerned with him getting out of jail than HIM DOING COCAINE. It blows my mind when these things happen.

First response = best comment already. That's how I like it. Quick and effective.

Seriously... why would watch anyone G4? I mean, I really like Sessler and sometimes I watch his Soapbox episodes but everything else is pure garbage. I wish he would leave G4 so I don't have to give them views.

Honestly my friend? People dying(no matter if the where drunk or not) is still a loss. comparing to hitler? FFS man, how old are you? He was a young man who fucked up, and sadly his friend took the damage aswell. But do you really think his friend, didn't know he was drunk?

what i want to say is, people fuck up sometime(maybe not you as you are a saint.......) and sometimes it bites back. No matter what. It's still sad when ppl die, theire faul or not. Great men don't drive drunk? .....omg. Great men drive drunk ut do not get caught. great men have done alot worse then what mr Dunn did.

I never held Mr Dunn in high regards, but i laught several times from what he did. 2 people died. If people loved them and/or admired them, whats that to you? Sad anyway.

God damn quote thingy^^
