@bane122: Do you fail to realize the value that E3 has to the gaming consumer?
Nintendo Direct only caters to Nintendo fans. People who don't know about Nintendo Direct aren't going to know what Nintendo is showcasing. However, they will at E3...wait...nope, not for Nintendo.
I saw today's Nintendo Direct. Trash. New Mario and Sonic Olympics? Zelda, Oracle of Ages and Seasons? Pikmin 3? Come on. These games only appeal to hardcore Nintendo fans. Nintendo has lost it's interest in hardcore gamers who want fighters and shooters to play on their console. Instead, they focus on casuals who want the latest installment of Mario Party and the other Nintendo exclusives.
But wait, you want to play some 3rd party games? Forget about playing it on the WiiU. They are milking Zelda and Mario over and over down our throats until we suffocate on them. Rehashing the exact same game. It's absurd.
There are reasons why EA isn't going to be developing for Nintendo. Nintendo doesn't cater to other markets. They don't cater to 3rd party developers. Only to casuals who love their franchise exclusive rehashes of Zelda and Mario.
I'm sorry, but give me interest to watch your Nintendo Direct. I don't want to see more milking of the Zelda and Mario franchises.
And failing to embrace the smartphone gaming market is another thing that will screw Nintendo over in the long run.
