Man, Dan does not even care anymore. to be fair, him screwing up Vinny's micro-managing is a good thing, because the interesting part of this series was supposed to be each commander having their own style, which have all become homogenized into the Vinny-style at this point.
also In Dan's defense: this series has overstayed its welcome for me at this point. It did get me to buy and play through Xcom 1 and 2 though, so that's probably why.
From everything he's said Jeff would totally be a fan of the Ocean dub Vegeta voice.
Yeah. I would actually love to hear Jeff trying to watch a couple of episodes in the original Japanese, since i'm curious what he thinks of Vegeta's japanese voice. He's already tried switching back and forth, but if he's not used to watching subs, I understand if he finds it distracting and takes away from the enjoyment of the show.
The Japanese VO is so good at expressing Vegeta's arrogance and overall demeanor.
this is so goddamn good. every single time i finish this podcast i count up what they're going to cover next week, and eagerly look forward to specific things. in particular, i'm looking forward to a Monday three weeks from now.
I'm really interested what they think about the new arc, since it's a really fun treasure hunt/ game of cat & mouse. I wonder how much they're gonna love the Ginyu force. It seems like the right kind of goofy & dumb that they'd enjoy.
Really happy they decided to up the amount of episodes per podcast. This is fantastic. I hope people don't spoil anything for them, or even give them any info unless they are specifically asking for it. I think it's fine to let them speculate, and be wrong/correct about stuff.
What do you have against Vinny? He was the biggest DBZ fan on the staff for the longest time before Dan showed up. He may not be an expert but at least he would make a nice counterpoint. Even if he doesn't know the answer he is good at fooling Dan into believing what ever he says. Every content on this site is better with Vinny in it IMHO.
@puchiko: I think you're regarding Vinny as a much bigger dbz expert than he actually is. He also doesn't have to be in every piece of content, and I appreciate the fresher take Dan and Jeff have.
I found it really annoying how after Dan explicitly asked Vinny not to spoil stuff on the Beastcast he kept spoiling things to varying degrees. He just said he'd watched the first three episodes Vinny, you don't need to start talking about the formula each arc falls into, or the story arc certain characters take over time, or talking about specific techniques not introduced until way later in the series.
It annoyed me too. Vinny was being uncharacteristically obnoxious on that podcast, and it was really bothering me how he just kept spoiling Dan on stuff.
