Exploding penguins and a stretchy blue slime

The other day I bought:

Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (Greatest Hits) (PS2) (new, $19.99)
Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (used, $10.79)

And by "the other day" I mean, like, two weeks ago. I would have like to get the original release of Disgaea, but at this point I'm more interested in playing the game than seeking out an original copy.

Of course, it would be way disappointing if that was all I bought in the million years since my last blog entry. And luckily, it's not. :) Here's the other stuff that I remember buying:

Alter Echo (PS2) (used)
Geist (GCN) (new)
Katamari Damacy (PS2) (used)
Max Payne (PS2) (used)
Rogue Galaxy (PS2) (new)
The Simpsons Game (PS2) (used)
SiN Episodes: Emergence (PC) (new)
Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation 2 (GBA) (new)

Oh, and a used PSOne (that's the redesigned PlayStation) with a memory card, two controllers, and three games — The Emperor's New Groove, Monsters Inc. Scream Team, and Jampack Fall 2001. Yeah, a demo disc. I didn't realize it was even in there until I first turned on the system. It's actually notable in that it's the last Jampack disc for the PS1. If that counts as being notable.

Games I beat:

Psychonauts
Katamari Damacy
The Simpsons Game

And, uh, I guess that's it. They're all good and they're all funny in their own special way. But some are better than others. By which I mean Katamari Damacy is awesome.

Oh, awesome, you're playing Disgaea. How're you finding it so far?

Have you beat most of the games you bought, or are they just lying around right now?

So far, I've been enjoying it. I like the characters and the gameplay's way deep.

I actually don't beat games very often. Either I find them too difficult to complete, or I just get bored and move on. There are some games that I really should get back to though. It can be tough, owning so many games.

Are you ever going to get a PS3, seeing that you have so many PS2, and PS1 games?

I found Katamari Damacy to be quite enjoyable. I liked it quite a bit, in case you didn't notice it in my Favorites list. :) The whole thing was just bizarre and way fun.

I don't have plans for a PlayStation 3 at this time, but who knows what the future will bring? :)

I'm glad you're enjoying Disgaea. It is one of my favorite games, in general, and probably my favorite in its type. The characters are what sealed the deal for me. Even the prinnies, that get no respect from Etna or anyone else. I laughed so hard at the character's antics and the things they said. (Didn't like the anime... watched only 2 or 3 episodes and that was enough for me.) I never reached level 10,000 (that is the maximum, right?) with any of my characters (120 or so was what I could muster)... and I'm getting itchy to play it again. ^_^

Wow, thats some serious shopping! and that too spreading almost 3 generations!

I wonder why you made the decision to buy a PSone now.. but yeah there sure are some gems for it too! hope you hav tried Tomba, Klonoa etc. I remember watching my bro play Monsters Inc. the most noticeable thing is that, that is the only game I think had savestate (emulator type) saving in the game. eveything else was save point type saving.

Days, years, who's counting. Grats on beating and buying games! I need to start actually beating some of the ones I've bought lately.

Katamari Damacy is one of my all-time favorites - still a great fall back game when my niece and nephew come over and I want to keep them mesmerized for long stretches of time without a lot of effort. :-P I really enjoyed Rogue Galaxy as well.
