Sea of Thieves, anyone?

Also apparently Pit People by The Behemoth came out this year. I went from actively checking for details and rumours about what 'Game 4' was going to be, to just....not caring. I never ever say this, but I think they should stop developing new and creative games and just make a sequel to Castle Crashers.

Almost all of my favorite games I love because of the story and characters. Obviously I'd prefer a game to play well rather than not but if the story is good I don't really care how it plays.

Story > gameplay > graphics

After actually playing the game for a few hours, man this game seems like Jeff Gerstmann poison. I didn't read up on anything about the game so I was very surprised by how methodical and simulation based it is. I love all that stuff, but man it seems specifically designed to turn off Jeff.

Jeff don't give a fuck about atmosphere, or "experience" games. Jeff gives a fuck about mechanics, and if a game don't FEEL good, it's got no chance. The Witcher 3? Movement's weird. Combat isn't as nuanced as a dedicated action game. Fuck that game. Red Dead? If he wants to play a cover shooter he'll play Gears or something. Fuck that game. Resident Evil? Tank controls. Nuff' said.

Unless Red Dead is a world class third person shooter he'll not love it.

When I was unemployed I tried to keep up with everything. Minus the "Play through a whole game" series. I just don't enjoy that kind of content and there seems to be more and more these days. Now that I'm working full time I really have to pick and choose what I want to watch, but I always listen to every podcast every week.

I'm a 90s kid and I never really had a problem with the word. Things have changed a lot but even as a kid I wore my video gaming and Star Wars and Magic the Gathering on my sleeve and never got any grief. I guess I was lucky in that sense.

But somehow Abby's use of the word always hits my ear wrong. I'm not sure why but it always comes off as mean spirited even though I'm certain it's not.

I was on GameFAQs heavily for about 14 years before finally having enough. It's a lot nicer here, but a lot quieter. I'd say the site skews older than a lot of other game sites. The moderators do a great job of keeping toxicity to a minimum but it can at times also feel a bit heavy handed.

Overall it's a veru good place to talk about games.

I'm on this planet for a few decades if I'm lucky, and then I'll die. If I see a game I want to play, I'm going to play it. I can't let shit like this get in my way. If that's problematic or callous...I don't care.

With certain games Jeff digs his heels in and goes way overboard with his hate for it as if he feeds off the collective eye rolling of the fans of said games to sustain him. Nights is one of those games. Is it amazing? No. Not really. It's not even really great. But it's ok.
