I did the elephant, whichever that one is. Now I'm lost. Where do I find the armor? I have only seen Beetle and he doesn't have any. I have 3 "main" quests and they all seem to require me to go to an area that wants to kill me and/or kick me out.
Its not the food that is the problem ... I'm tired of trying to figure out where I'm supposed to go. As I stated in my original post, I made it to the mission marker town to the west for my next divine beast quest line thing ... Now I'm a "Voe". What the hell am I supposed to do? I'm supposed to walk around the world looking for enough food to keep me cool while I try to quest in those areas? I'm sure that'll be great fun ... scavenging the map looking for cooling foods. That doesn't have anything to do with me being a "Voe" ... I just want the game to give me a freaking clue!
I've beaten Divine Beast Ruto ... or whatever the elephant was. I tried going north - burned by lava/heat. I tried going west - burned by heat at a slower pace, then called a "Voe" and not allowed into the city. I have no other main quests in the starting areas and not even a hint of what I'm supposed to do now. I've been dicking around for hours, completing side quests, hoping that it would give me a nod in the right direction ... NOPE! I've been playing games for decades and I feel like this game is incredibly obtuse. Dark Souls has more direction than this! WTF? Am I missing something?
After some more thought and time with the game, I stand by my decision to like it - even for $50. Yes, it has somewhat limited replay value. Yes, some of its games aren't very fun (though I truly enjoy the majority of them). And, yes, it should probably only cost $30-$40. However, when I got home from work yesterday my adult daughter asked to play the game again and this resulted in at least a half hour of almost non-stop laughs for my family and I. I'll likely never spend hours and hours playing this game, but the snippets of pure, unadulterated fun that I've already received from this game are invaluable. I'm definitely in a unique position as I have a mostly grown up family and a job that lets me take this game to work to play with my clients, but if you have a history of liking little party games I wholeheartedly recommend picking this up ... bonus at a discount!
Am I the only one? I know its kind of a "cash grab" or "playing to the lowest common denominator" ... but its fun! I'm 35 years old, have I crossed over into "old people games" already?
Is it like a perk that I would equip to a class? I didn't know I could choose; I thought amped weapons was just what it was. Edit: Is it where it gives me an option to press X before a match?
