  • Not only do I think Siege is game of the year but also the best game since I started making lists on Giant Bomb. I started this year not interested in Siege at all. I was not planing on every playing it nor did I think it was a good idea for the Rainbow Six franchise to go in this direction. Boy was I wrong. After a couple of friends got into it and asked me to try a free weekend I was HOOKED! Siege is one of those "Easy to learn, hard to master" type games even though its not the easiest to learn either. Yes its a shooter but an extremely unforgiving one. But pulling off amazing plays in Siege is unlike anything else this year. Its also a team game that you don't NEED your team. I played Overwatch this year too but my main issue with Overwatch is that if your team sucks no matter how good you are you will probably loose. People need to play their rolls and work together. In Siege you also need to play a roll and team work is definitely rewarded but you could be the last alive on your team against the entire enemy team and still come out on top. Since they are constantly releasing DLC I would not be surprised that Siege shows up on next years list too.

  • The Witness was a game I have been waiting for since I beat Riven when I was a kid. I was a huge fan of Myst and Riven but all the knock off and sequels always fell way short. The Witness made me feel like I was right back there playing those games. Besides the game play and puzzles the visuals were amazing and the amount of "hidden in plain sight" things in that world made my jaw drop. For sure the game this year that made me smile the most.

  • Oh Overwatch... This seems weird to put a new Blizzard title lower on my list. The art style is amazing, in game story telling top notch and game play is fun, everything I expect from Blizzard. It also delivered on everything they promised but did not really surprise me.

  • Battlerite is Diablo like game play in a PVP arena. Need I say more? This and Gigantic are games currently in development. I feel like I should put these games in the year I started playing them because look at DOTA2 it just "Released" a couple years ago.

  • My MOBA for this year is Gigantic. I just started playing this so I don't know how it will hold up but so far extremely fun. The matches are not DOTA length and the game play is great. I think it needs some work when it comes to map design but it has great promise. Looking forward to how it PLAYS out! LOL

  • As long as you have some friends to play with Overcooked is multiplayer split screen fun. That one party game that has everyone yelling for the sliced tomatoes while the kitchen burns.

  • Titanfall 2 feels great, but so did Titanfall 1. It really feels like a more refined version of the first game with a single player component. But it just made me feel like this should have been the first game and that Titanfall 3 if it happens will be amazing.

  • Its more Battlefield that feels like Battlefield! Plus it looks amazing!

  • The Division started out very promising. The problem was once you finished the story line the "end game" and the dark zone sucked. The dark zone was just full of hackers and the end game was just grinding. I am hopeful if we get a Divison 2 that it might be better.

  • I think all the problems with No Man Sky are all over the internet so I will not repeat them here. But I did have fun with it until I didn't.
